I don't know if it's just my paper (of course it isn't!) but when I sat down to read it this morning, the stories that start on Page A1 are not continued on Page A6 - so, the first half of stories on Page A1 are never completed and the second half of stories on Page A6 were never started - who is working at the News-Times - doesn't anyone proofread any more??

I thought I was the only one that noticed that. Incredible.

Put a few editions aside to show your grandchildren what news papers used to look like in the "good old days". The News times will soon be out of business. As it should be...

As someone who is an experienced proofreader and writer, I feel sick to my stomach when reading this rag. I have applied for crappy clerical jobs in the past, hoping they would offer me small tasks and that I could erhaps correct errors prior to printing as I sit at the front desk. I can't even get a call back and I'm not a kid off the steet. Maybe they are scared, after reviewing my resume, that I'll hand them back a copy of that day's paper full of bright red error marks? I'm sure this is why they hire incompetent journalists vs. savvy folks with the experience to shame them. The worst part? Poorly written obituaries. I see the same ones reprinted again and again, most likely from pissed off and grieving family members that would like to cut the obit out for a rememberance. I am cancelling my subscription in the hopes that 1. they'll give a crap about what errors they print and 2. start focusing more on Danbury-area stories. What do I care about an arrest in Bridgeport? Stamford? COnsidering starting my own paper. Anyone interested?!?!

Will you hire any naygers? Sometimes just the stench of one could make an entire office unpleasant. Just something to consider, unless you put them in an office or back room away from the regular employees.
