Good cross-section of Americans there: different ages, different ethnicities.

I guess my comments last week about Rose St being a crappy neighborhood weren't too off-base.

Hahaha! Beaver St... How appropriate.

I wouldn't expect anything less from that area in Danbury. Between the immigrants and the prostitutes, the city is really becoming the center of slum in Connecticut.

Prostitutes have been in the Spring and Beaver st area since the late 80s , it is amazing that Spring Street has not been cleaned up. I do not understand how one block in Danbury can be the most disgusting area in Danbury. It is dangerous and full of drugs and prostitutes.

You will never clean it up with Dorothy Day and the New Street Shelter. Those places attract the scum of the earth..

it's basic city management ; you want to keep all your problems in one area to prevent it from being all over the city which in turn will destroy a city !

Good! The old people that live in the building across from the park have a nice view of these activities. Now they can start closing all the local "spas".

Yet the Asian prostitutes who sell their goods at the "spa" on Lake Avenue still continue, and have for literally decades. Executive Oriental Spa, correct? The police could get a fair number of 'women' in one spot there, easy pickings, yet they don't. I wonder why....? LOL

BTW, all you have to do is look in the yellow pages, there's a few bordellos in Danbury. And almost every city around. "Spa" "Massage" "Escort" They're all the same! We all know that, and the police know that. So someone explain WHY they are all still open? Geesh.

The spas, while illegal, help remove the market for the type of "in your face" prostitution and drugs going on that they just busted up.

More spas mean the demand is reduced on the street and drug activity is reduced on the street.

Before the spas there was more streetwalker activity. Years ago police friends told other friends they knew about this place called Jason's Health Spa and let it stay open as long as no one complained because it kept the worst activity off the street to some extent.

I think that's why they exist: better to have something that won't go away behind closed doors without making drug dealers rich.
