Police arrest three in heroin bust

After a two-month investigation into heroin sales, police said they arrested three people Monday and seized more than 70 bags of heroin, as well as narcotics in pill form, and drug paraphernalia.

Really? One of the suspects caught with drugs was charged with ALL OF THESE redundant charges:
- Two counts of possession
- Two counts of a controlled substance
- Failure to keep narcotics in the original container

Really?

Isn't that like a speeder being charged with speeding, travelling too fast for conditions, failure to obey posted signs? How about tacking on conspiracy to each one and then we can double it.

good point Nems, but it would have more weight if a precedent hadn't already been set by those who comb the police blotter looking for Latino-sounding names.
