Tuesday is day 2 of the vehicular homicide trial of Richard Patton , the Bucks County attorney accused of causing the death of his girlfriend.

I knew Rich a number of years ago and worked with him in the prosecutor's office. He was very kind to me and not at all a bad person. Whatever happened with his girlfriend was likely a horrible tragic accident in the heat of a bad moment. It could happen to anybody. Ok Flyers gal, if and when your brother, your father your uncle or your husband gets into an argument with someone and something bad happens, make sure you have the same contempt for them that you feel for a stranger. I never said Rich was innocent.

Dear What, please try to manage your anger. We're not talking about a serial killer. We're talking about an ordinary guy who could be anyone's brother or father. That's the point. I don't condone Rich's actions. A horrible thing happened and Rich is gonna pay for that. How would you feel if you found yourself in a position to ask for mercy?

Let me see if I can get this across to you. I don't put myself in those situations! Do you think I was happy when my old chick would hit me, or punch me (yes, it happened more then once). NO, OF COURSE NOT. And I was also drinking during a couple of these situations also. But I would literally run away, cause I knew if I did anything to her, I would get arrest and not her. Your boy can't use his head. And he was an attorney? Not some drunk 19+ year old who failed out of college. Why was I more mature then your former co-worker. Give him mercy? Why? He didn't make a mistake? He made a horrible life decision, and he gotta deal with it. If the dude isn't smart enough to walk away from a heated argument/situation WITH A GIRL NONE-THE-LESS, that's his own messy bed that he's gotta sleep in.

it sounds to me that's exacly what he was trying to do, was run away from her. Unfortunately she was drunk and like most drunks acted without thinking first.
