Good!!
I'm sorry that all of the others have had to suffer, But----Bill will make a good chief. He will be impartial when it comes to enforcing the law. I just hope he survives the wrath of the mayor and others. He may try a little community policing and maybe it will please the town folks enough to let him do a good job of stopping the drugs from North Carolina and Tennessee from coming through. If it is true, then good luck Bill..

our little town is set now for smooth sailing.i can't believe the town has made a decision, and a great one at that! maybe we all can now come together as a unity and help keep eyes on the things needed watched and not so much on our department of protection. thank you town, for hiring someone that will have ears to listen to our problems and not someone that is set in one's ways. let's all pull together and be as one, and those of you that don't can gladly move onto another town, county, or state. especially those of you that wanted someone from tennessee.you can move there, where the crime rate is really up, along with sales taxes.
I enjoyed reading the paper, especially the part of, not using the town as a stepping stone. that sounds like he is for real.

i dont know what the big deal is all he has to do is crack down the towns own cops and not be buddy buddy with them and it will all go fine but a town this small will never be one. no one will get along and someone will find a flaw with it, plus im more worried about all that sewage coming out of that ho bag monicas mobie home/trailer its looking bad

So now we have a reject AGAIN. We have one of Newmans rejects. We used to have one of Sullivan Counties rejects, one of Castlewoods rejects, one of Smyth Counties rejects and now the town council gets rid of a fine chief and is losing all of its fine officers who weren't someone elses rejects. If Nunley is so great why did the sheriff fire him? Why couldn't he get a job anywhere else? Why wouldn't the sheriff rehire him since? Why do most of the county deputies that worked with him not speak well of him? Why have we replaced our good officers with someone elses rejects? Nunley wants this job just to get back in a police job for his own purposes and by the time the council figures that out it will be to late.

Nunley.....LOL
Ask his wife "Lilly Munster" about him, she doesn't even trust his sorry ole' ass, she made him sign a pre-nup so he wouldn't be able to take her house when she decides to divorce him for being a lazy piece of crap.
We just traded one jerk for another, and just wait and see how much of the taxpayers money good ole' Nunley will be spending on this and that.
Mark it on your calendar folks, and just watch.

come on people! he hasn't even started yet and your already bad mouthing him. you should not judge him. you haven't heard or seen what he has to offer. give him about a year, and then you can say what you think. but as for now, you should be supporting him and welcoming him to our community. you know what we had, this could be our opportunity to have someone that will do as the word says. remember, it says we should hold in one hand the laws of the bible and the laws of the land in the other. up until now, we haven't had either.
d-town has been wanting a change, this could be it. our community is always talking about how we need to come together. that is what makes Comm"UNITY".

For the past year we have had both. The past year is the only year I can remember when everyone was treated the same by the police instead of the councils friends and family being "special". Yes I was pulled over by one of our officers and no I didn't like getting pulled over but you know what? I knew I was breaking the law and I know that every person in town was treated exactly the same if they were also breaking the law. Now I am not sure if that will happen. Why did we trade a fair police department made up of officers who were from here to a department of other peoples rejects who nobody knows.

and how he be held accountable for his sisters action?and as far as his marriage, its really none of anyones business.
for what you are stating, is it bad for someone to have d.n.r papers?life insurance?
sounds as if you are maybe jealous. maybe you can't handle the fact that you suck and can't keep a relationship yourself.

well first off thats right but they dont get paid in chilhowie like bristol pays, and second they do work for Bristol VIRGINIA not TENNESSEE, unlike Bill they are able to get a job on the Virginia side, my thing is why wasnt he hired by all the other departments, that he applied for or bristol va fired department?, i mean if he wanted to be a police officer again, then why didnt he go to work for Bristol Tennessee police department, by all means he had already passed the civil exam, so why didnt Wade hire him at Bristol,TN?, no one wanted him anymore. Its all in who you know here in Damascus, and we are in for a big let down, it may take a year or so but you will see, he will hide under the radar till things pass over and the town settles down.

bill nunley is a great police officer.. not only working for emory and henry police dept. but also a part time police officer in damascus. if anyone deserves to be chief it should be bill.. ive known and worked with bill in the past and would love to work with him again. he will bring a new face and changes to a town that needs a good department and fresh start. Not only as a paramedic and firefighter but has alot of experience as a police officer and a damn good one if i might add.. Good Luck and Congrats Bill...
