The voters and the judges have decided to overrule the tiny 1 percent of people who are homosexuals. Let traditional marriage between a man and a woman stand forever as the rule of civilized society.

It's a shame that people care so very much about what others do in the privacy of their own homes. I wish the Supreme Court had actually identified this failure to abide by the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution as unlawful and unjust.

The court upheld the legality of the 18,000+ gay marriages performed in Cali.

Now the bigots will try to put a proposition the ballot to nullify those legal gay marriages.

Well we the people of California voted twice on this matter of gay marriages and yet your stubborness gets the best of you, WE SAID NO! The California Supreme Court Said NO, three strikes your OUT!
Now before you go out and burn and riot the good city of San Francisco, go to city hall and ask mayor Newsome to refund you all your moneys, he knew it all the time but you people dont get it, his intentions was to make money out of as many of you as he could and you took the bait, now go get your refunds you do deserve to get your money back from your phony marriage license.
It might be to late, that money was used to fund his run for governor and his secrete beautiful mansion in Pebble Beach.

They should allow those who have already been married to stay married. To nullify those marriages is a HUGE slap in the face.

People's emotions are involved in all this.

Perhaps they should allow it but tax it to get the budget back into the black?

Lets see, Prop 22 passed with 63% of the vote.

The State Supreme Court overturned it. It was unconstitutional.

So we get Prop 8.

Prop 8 passes with 52% of the vote.

And less than 100% of the voting populace turned out.

Was this a true majority? Don't think so. Not everyone voted.

BTW - notice the trend?

And when we put it back on the ballot and it passes? Will you go quietly? Somehow I doubt it.

The question is whether or not an illegal action can be legitimized with a legal one...It only stands to reason that two wrongs do not make a right.

I hope that the prop 8 will be superseded by a one that will recognize that lbgt can be married. Your religion say that gays should not be married.. they wont be married in your church.. What part of that has not been understood?

Actually I will answer that.. All of it..

It is indeed a sad day, but that is ok... This issue is not settled and will not be until all gay or hetro will be able to marry.

It will happen this fight is far from over. So do think a small set back ends the fight for equality for every one to marry their loved one regardless of gender.

You're right.. we are unlike you... we don't feel the need to legislate other's lives... we don't feel the need to lie to get our bigotry into law... we don't feel the need to use slippery slope arguments to justify our hatred.. we don't feel the need to use children as a weapon in our fight... we don't feel the need to use some verses of the Bible to condemn, while ignoring most of the others... yep, I'm proud to be unlike most of you.

Do remember just what exactly this ruling said:
It said (ONLY) tha Prop 8 was an amendment ot the state constitution and that it was not a revision. This ruling in and of itself did not change anything WRT gay marriages here in Cal.

So, either as soon as November 2010 or as late as 2012, prop 8 will be overturned by a new prop. Sucks for those that now have to wait before they get to celebrate their civil right to marriage, but it is only temporary.

This isn't a bash on Gay marriage but if the Voters here in California voted against it then why are the 18,000 gay marriages prior to the vote, legal? And the funniest thing of this is Iowa in the heart of the bible belt has legalized gay marriages while it's illegal in California now haha. It's opposite day. Russia becomes capitalist and America is becoming socialist under Obama. How fun.

Or relationship...

Why should the government discriminate against brothers that want to marry their sisters and pro-create?...

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Leo

It's hard to pin down a certain person today because they're being so vague and dithery. Ask them a question and they'll vacillate or be unable to give you a straight answer. You might suspect them of deceitful goings on but it's far more likely that they're simply in a world of their own and can't keep their mind on anything for long. Don't worry, they'll soon be back on planet earth.
