We should not be institutionalizing kids at such an early age. Sacrifice and stay home with your kids!

1 Easier said than done. There are many single parents (divorced, widowed, etc.) who must work for a living. And in actuality, pre-school is very positive for children. The environment teaches them, among other things, socialization, sharing and encourages other skills learned from other children. Statistics show that children who attend pre-school are more likely to go to college. |

1 YES> YES>YES> It is not easy at all to stay home with your kids. But who said it would be easy? Or fair? Or, or, or... they're your kids. Raise them. Moms, if your husband wanted a babysitter to raise his kids he would've slept with the babysitter. |

well that comes along with the territory young ladies gossiping about the parents if they are married or not.
sure am glad my kids are older, the teachers who did the pulling the pinching sure would have alot to handle with this mommy! |

Believe it or not, parents can be great parents AND send their kids to preschool.
Call a preschool an institution is ludicrous. Don't judge other people's decisions when you don't live their lives. |

bolony... work for a living? bunch of abuser running rampant all over. when my son was little I was student, he used to go preschool, and then a babysitter picked him up, I started noticing his lunch box unopened, one time I came early and her son ( another little kid) was hitting my son.. this made me make the final decision to change all that and I decided to quit what I was doing, instead focus on him for as long as he needed me. my advice is, if you I have small child, raise him/her yourself, is worth it, and don't go on trusting everyone because after all is a """jungle out there""" some people don't care about children, some do it for business, some neglect even their own kids. so don't take chances and do your jib right or don't have children you can't afford with good care. |

A staff member at the pre-school across from Pinto Lake that my daughter attended briefly at age 2, actually put a live lizard in her lunchbox in order to give her the message that the children were not allowed to bring lunch from home. This on her fist day of pre-school. Imagine how my child felt when she went to open the lunchbox to have her lunch? Now that is cruel. I pulled her from there even though I was told it was one of the best pre-schools in town. My daughter is 27 now. Thank god she overcame this nightmare.

Who owns this school and what does he do in this community? This is ridiculously sad and disgusting. EVERY family should withdraw their child from this program. When is the protest? I will be there if you need me. This place should be shut down! I would also like names, and hope that the parents of the abused children file complaints/press charges, I certainly would.
This place does not deserve one child walking through that door, nor one penny in the bank. |

It's definitely worth staying home if you don't qualify for the incredible subsidies that so many illegal immigrants qualify for. I had to pull my kid from preschool for financial reasons. Now that I spend time teaching my kid, I've noticed how advanced his learning has become compared to his peers that are in preschool. I don't do a lot of the crafts you see in preschool, though. Having studied early childcare, I don't believe the studies you allude to hold up very well under scrutiny. If you have any specific studies to cite, perhaps we could debate it? |

This was my experience. I went to look for preschools for my twins. When I visited different schools I would ask the students if they liked it there, most replied, NO. I found a school where the staff was warm and loving, they actually hugged the kids. My kids attended 2x week for 3 hours. My observations are that although kids who go to preschool full time do better in school the first couple years then they even out about 3rd grade. Behavior is another issue. The friends who my kids brought home that attended full time daycare / preschool were really hyper, ADDish, not well behaved and unpleasant to be around. The kids who were raised at home might be only average in academics but they were calm, nice, and pleasant to be around. Some of the brightest students we met were home schooled. I think if anyone took the time to ask their children what their preference would be, it would be to stay home with mom or dad. |

The root cause is the parenting methods taught to generations by the Catholic Church. When the Catholic Church stops abusing children, perhaps the caregivers will. I agree, it's the "Lord's" fault. |

Are you serious? This is the most retarded comment I have ever read!
|
||||
Amen , we wouldn't have had kids if somebody else had to raise them, nobody seems to get this. |

A number of years ago my son had a rather twisted kindergarten teacher at Live Oak, a very bad experience for any child.

LOL! How do illegal immigrants get in the mix here? Taking two early childhood classes doesn't make you an expert. |

There are many articles that state that preschool and, especially headstart are a good indicator of students going to college. If you reaaly did study earlychildhood ed you would defintely know that. If you want proof go on to the Christian Science Monoitor articles (they have a website). Or just about any imperically based education article. I am a 5th grade teacher and I know n this for a fact! |

First of all I am not blaming the LORD FOR ANYTHING!!!! so lets get that straight!! I feel that the abusers will get whats coming to them.
I wanted to mention earlier although I had forgot why were the parents not informed of such actions taken? I feel this is un professional on their part. I am still waiting for my response as to who were the children abuser?? I'm concerned even though that one person is no longer there.I think for the most part we just need to worrie about all the children and parents being affected by this unfortunate act!!!!!!! |

I don't like kids. I don't have kids, nor will I ever. But I will say this:
If someone ever put their hands on my kid like that, I would hurt them. It is not ok to put your hands on someone else's child. Especially someone who works at a freakin school! |
||||
|
And why did an outside agency have to discover this child abuse ? Where was the owner/manager?
Why was there inadequate supervision of the employees? This kind of operation should be shut down on the first offense. Children First. |
