Marin animal advocates protest circus coming next door

The circus isn't coming to Marin, but that's not stopping Marin animal rights advocates from protesting a national circus company that plans to pitch its tents nearby.

Yes, there surely IS abuse. The MHS has a long-standing history of abuse toward “little old ladies,� and other vulnerable people, periodically grand-standing to create an emotional response to extract from them the money their husbands left them or otherwise acquired. That includes using the money of MARIN COUNTY TAXPAYERS – Marin County pays the MHS almost $2,000,000 per year via a contract to do animal-control that is NOT put-out to bid in violation of a county and state law to do animal control in MARIN COUNTY – to fund travel to places as far away as Louisiana and Texas and, yes, a few miles south of San Francisco where there is a LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY. Why? Because, at its core, the MHA is a money-making, ego-gratifying, scam. Want proof? Go there and DEMAND to see its most-recent state and federal income tax returns. The law REQUIRES that both me IMMEDIATELY available to ANYone who wants to see them. If they refuse – and they probably will – report the incident to the Office of the California Secretary of State and the MHA will – well, is suppose to -- lose it tax-exempt status, as it should many years ago.

When the MHA goes out-out-county to “rescue” dogs from places like “puppy mills,” it makes room in its kennel area for the newcomers by KILLING the “Marin dogs” who were using the space.

About two-years I received an e-mail from a women in New Orleans asking me to help a friend of hers whose SERVICE dog was “rescued” by the MHA as part of its venture to “help” the victims of Katrina. The MHS REFUSED TO RETURN THE DOG to the woman, who, being disabled, required it to accomplish many of the tasks that “normal” people do without one. MHA, in my view, stands-for Monstrous, Horrific, Assholes.

The trucks you see throughout Marin that bear the words Marin Humane Society are actually LEASED BY THE COUNTY and should say Marin Animal Services which is the name of the government entity the MHS is contracted to The name is dishonest because animals are NOT “served.” Marin Animal Control is what it SHOULD say because THAT is what “they” do: control, which includes, killing, helpless animals.

Hay I'm glad the Marin Humane society is finally doing it's job, but this
organization has a lot of precious time to make up for. For years, they
were pretty much invisible. Sorry if I sound bitter, but for years I have
watched this organization do the bare minimum, and use a cheap mixture
of medication for euthanasia. Plus, that on site pet store is run terribly.
MHS will probably never measure up to San Francisco SPCA, but I can hope.
And yes, i have my donated time and money.

This organization needs to be kicked off the tax payer tit. How can we have a tax money funded private organization playing around like a bunch of misguided idiots. The Marin Humane Society needs to have a grand jury investigation into their conduct and the use of tax money from here in Marin County. If they want to play around like a bunch do gooders they they need to end their government funded service contracts immediately!
