Yep, another tragic accident that could have been prevented. When will parents start waking up and start looking after their kids? Too many needless deaths. Very sad and am sorry that it happened. mlsal wrote: Parents should always know where their kids are.Was this child out playing in someone's yard, who was he with, and how long before he was missed.Sad and tragic ending....

No need to judge I know this family from a distance...you are right they need our prayers right now, not to be judged by people that think that they are better than thou! Boys will be boys and he was supposedly skipping rocks in the creek...what child do you know that has not had a great time doing that! Unfortunately, we do not have control over every thing...there is a much higher power than us!!!!!

I am not saying boys can't skip rocks, and its not a matter of judging, it is common sense. Look after your kids or don't have them in the first place. I might sound harsh and I apologize to anyone who might read this and be offended, But when will parents (not just these) but all parents start taking responsibility for raising their kids, know where your kids are, if you know they are around water at very least have someone keep an eye on them. People can drown in less the two inches of water. Again not a matter of Judging I am sure these parents are very kind and loving parents. And what i write here may or may not be directed at them. I am just saying you can't just expect your kids to go out and play with out adult supervision any more, Apart from these dangers, there is the threat of sexual predators out there now. You are all right too, they do need prayers too.

I know a good friend of the family. The little boy was riding his bike to his friends house and stopped to skip rocks in the creek. He's a boy! I believe the parents knew pretty quickly he wasn't where he was suppose to be and lots of people helped them search for him.
I think our first instinct from afar is to blame the parents. I think it protects us from thinking the same thing could happen to our kids. It scares us how fragile life is. We can be here one minute and gone the next. And the same goes for our loved ones, including our children. The question is if we/they will be ready.
I am praying for this family. For their healing through this time of immeasurable loss.

Pray for them? We need to thank them. This is a message to everyone out there with kids...You better watch them carefully or mother nature will eat 'em. She's a little scamp. Always doing scary things like that.

I think it is horrible how you people are judging this family! This child was very well cared for and loved, he was under supervision by his family and you do not know anything but what you assume. Don't you know what the word assume means? Ass of u and me.....Just pray for the wonderful family and keep your opinions to yourselves. God is a just God and it was just this child's time to go back to his maker and master. You make me sick! What is wrong with the world today is people who judge like you.

Agree and disagree, your right we need to pray for the family they must be hurting bad. I could not agree more with you. The problem with you last part works both ways. What is wrong with this world today as far as this stuff goes? hmmm, i will give you the short list: 1) People don't want to take responsibility and look for others to blame. 2)Parents not looking after their kids and knowing where they are at all times. 3)Parents thinking kids (not necessarily this one) can take care of them selves. 4) Parents not disciplining (not necessarily this one) their kids because they don't care, or think its too harsh. yeah What is wrong with this world exactly? While i am not trying to judge these particular parents, this is reality out there. You need to wake up and realize this, that is another reason the world is like this, you acting all high and mighty, you couldn't see the problem if it jumped up and hit you in the face. I truly am sorry for this family, I know they are hurting but as someone said in an above post, this kid in one respect is a hero because he showed everyone still here the dangers, if no one is watching. 7 years old too young to be left unsupervised I am sorry, that is just the way it is. Not judging anyone, that is any 7 year old. chedar wrote: I think it is horrible how you people are judging this family!
