"Hey look what I brought to pittsfield" Ruburto has yet another thing to put on his shelf. Gee I wonder if Ruburto pushed the date up to the week before the mayor's vote, maybe he's a bit nervous. And hey were are the people going to park, please don't say the parking garage Ihope there are extra police on to walk the people into the barley lite garage. But Jimmy told us there is know crime in pittsfield, I wouldn't want to be walking out of the movies after midnight

I can't wait! I can finally see a movie in Pittsfield without having to go to the Mall! Woot woot!

Isn't it nice that project put Hudpuckers out of business? All for a "cinema" that is likely doomed to the same fate.

The welfare class that LBJ created needs a place to destroy. Better a federal, state, and taxpayer funded place than my house.

12.6 million to 22.4 million........yes gov't at work. sounds a little like rationed healthcare the left is throwing down our throats.
how many jobs over 100k have been created by this? |

$22.4 million? Really?

22.4 million and the building doesnt even look right. So much for saving the historic buildings in pittsfield
Why don't the articles about Ruburtos' cinema project mention the businesses that were evicted from the building, such as Sunshine Photographics.
This was done so his rich friend could develop the building, which by the way, will be turned into condo's in the future. |
Wasn't A Guthrie rejected when he had a plan for the same building? |
Yes. |

You cannot convince me this long- awaited unvieling is coincidental. I'll bet the BCC expansion and upgrade funds on the thought that that Nazis sympathizer, Pittsfield Mayor James Ruberto, design this unveiling to benefit his sinking re-election campaign.
Sorry, Adolf Hilter Ruberto, no such luck! I thought this to be ploy only Sarah Palin would concock. Then again, they both are wackjobs! Vote Dan Bianchi for mayor; he's our guy! |

THIS is worth $22.5 million?
Is this a joke? Who would have thought that a nondescript concrete industrial facade from the 1950's (or is it 1920's) would even be worth looking at, let alone investing money in for the purpose of keeping. This looks eerily similar to the old eyesore of a parking garage that used to take up space in downtown Boston. It was always laughingly referred to as "the cage" and thankfully was torn down not long ago. Yeah, this cage-like attraction in Pittsfield will attract tens of thousands to downtown Pittsfield to ooh and ahh at its utter magnificence. The Taj Mahal ain't got nuthin' on Pittsfield. And at the bargain basement price of $22.5 million! How could anyone have said no to such a deal? And Great Barrington won't get off the dime to spend $2 million for 56 prime acres of Fairgrounds parkland within spitting distance of its downtown. Where do these Berkshire movers-and-shakers get their smarts? |

It's nice to see there are so many positive People in Pittsfield, this blog is the reason why the place is going down, if Ruberto gets voted out that will be the last nail in the coffin.
yup the place will draw thousands to the downtown area---must be so cause they said so.

Even if Ruberto gets voted back in what makes you think the coffin is going anywhere? Both mayoral candidates are Liberal Democrats. Neither is going to be able to do anything given their LibDem mindset. Will either confront the city's employee unions to wring concessions from union bosses? Will either lower property taxes? Will either permanantly lower business taxes to attract jobs to Pittsfield? I think you already know the answer. |
