Okay....I agree, maybe we should say no. But why did the Garvey's buy their home across the street from a gravel pit? Just because Kay Hall hasn't used it for a larger operation, does not change the fact that it is and has been zoned for just that. Did people in town really think that she would just let it sit there and do nothing with it? There was no problem with it then, why now? When you rally people together to say no...please look at the whole picture, the past usage, the present usage and the potential future usage. What would you do if it where your property to sell? The property was bought that way, she should be able to sell it that way. The county is in need of this gravel operation.....there is a reason for that. Please think this one out carefully before you make a decision either way.
Thank you.

People's tolerance for such things has changed a great deal. The same can be said for any industry that pollutes.

Why was it once OK for GE to dump PCBs in Silver Lake but now we think that was wrong......???

because business was more important than people....

Are you really going to put the PCB spin on it?
People are very, very important........the gravel is used to protect people in many ways!

Not in my back yard and besides they migh have to cut down a tree.I hate people who make money and I hate seeing any business open. That is why Massachusetts is sinking fast and it is because of simple minded democRATs who hate everything and anything. If I owned this land I would sue this creep for harrasment. For that matter I can not understand why large companies with the money to do it don't sue these types out of existance.Wal Mart for example ought to sue every liberal democRAT that tries to stop them from running their business.Win or lose the people will have to fork out money to a lawyer and that would put an end to 99% of these liberal dogsTrying to stop people from doing what they want with their business and land.

It seems so. Higher intensity means more permits. No permits no gravel. No gravel no justice!

There are some places that are ok for gravel pits and others that are not. This one is not the right place. It will disrupt too many people's lives with noise pollution, possible ground water issues, and traffic jams. The pit will do nothing to benefit the Town of Dalton. It will make the tax-payers pay for damage to the roads caused by the many heavy trucks.

We've seen how ugly a gravel pit and operation can make a Town. We've had one by the old town landfill for decades. The Town of Dalton has paid its dues. Please stop the gravel pit.

The place was a gravel pit before it became a neighborhood of not in my back yarders!
