I think I saw Marshall running down the street with the baseball glove that was lost at Wahconah Park from two years ago...sorry, couldn't help myself...seems random that 2 dogs went out and 1 came back...there are some big scary monsters out in those woods in south county...why would the dog nappers take one but not the other without knowing what his pedigree was? Sorry for your loss

An open letter to Marshall's 'parents':
I think everybody who has ever lost a pet can understand your pain, however there comes a point where you have to accept your loss. Many of us who have had pets all our lives learn this at a very early age.
You may consider Marshall to be one of your 'kids', but after all is said and done, he is a dog, not a person.
He is simply a domesticated animal that got loose and took off to his fate. It happens all of the time. His breeding and the amount of money he is worth doesn't change that.
I think you know, that logically, the chances of him having been 'stolen' are slim at best.
The dog had a chip, if anyone had found him - or even taken him, he probably (or at the very least eventually) would have had to go to a veterinarian - and he would have been identified and returned to you.
Marshall was lost in the midst of a particularly nasty winter this year. Do you HONESTLY believe that a short haired WHITE pampered poodle could have survived in the cold and the snow all that time?
Add up all of the money you have spent trying to find Marshall for the past six months.
Now take out your checkbook, take out a check and write it out that very amount.
And make it out to a charity - an animal shelter or local food bank (in Marshall's memory)- instead of the Berkshire Eagle.
Your money will be put to very good use.
I'm sorry for your loss ...

Okay...seriously. We have had a few lost dogs in our family. We put something in the paper, prayed for their return, but they didn't. Life goes on. As Sparkling said,(stop wasting your money!) and put that money toward helping an animal or two who needs it in your pet's memory. Get on with your life! Please accept that your dog is not coming back.

To all of you who have put in such awful, hurtful, nasty comments, what are you thinking? Show some compassion. This family has lost a member of their family. What has happened to people. Have you forgotten about God? Have you forgotten about the love and compassion that he gives to you each and every second of every day? Think about what you are saying. Put yourself in someone else's shoes for a minute. This world would be a much more peaceful place. We need to pray for each other. We need to pray for this family. Stop all of this negativity. Bring God back into the picture. He is the BIG picture!

I have been in this person's shoes before. We have lost pets. They ran away. We put an ad in the paper....we waited for that phone to ring...and it didn't. We didn't get an article printed in the Eagle about it. We miss our dog. But there comes a time where you have to be realistic. We were. The dog was lost in the dead of winter. Don't you think somebody would have seen the dog by now if it was alive? Of course some of the things said on here have been quite nasty. Let them say what they will. I say it's karma. However, please don't bring "God" into the picture. We don't "need" to pray for each other or the family. Who are you to tell me what I need or what these people need? Why do we have to bring "God" back into the picture? Is it going to bring the dog back? Not everybody is religious! Sorry to burst your bubble, but not everybody thinks "God" is the big picture! I certainly don't!

"Twentysomething". You poor soul. God has everything to do with everything that we all do. That's not being religious, that's life. I'm not telling anyone what to do with their lives that is between them and GOD. How we conduct ourselves here on Earth will be the final judgment my dear child. Whether you want to believe that or not, again your decision. I WILL pray for you because you need it. My comment, if you would stick to the subject, is this. This poor family lost their pet, their member to their family. Others on here decide to bash this family when they are down. Shame on them. Why is it so hard to show compassion to others instead of hurting innocent people? That's the issue, not your lack of faith. Put others before yourself. Be kind instead of nasty. Don't you agree that the world would be a much happier place to live? My family has also lost a pet with a much better outcome. Yes, I do thank GOD for that. Why? Because without our faith and HIS love it would have been much harder to deal with. HE is real and lives in all of us whether we want him to or not. Trust me on that. Don't find that out when it is to late and HE is right in front of you. Just think about that and take my comments to heart. This life is temporary. Our life after this is for eternity. I pray that you make the right choices. My comments are not made with any malicious, nasty, or any other rotten intention. They are made because I care about people. Please don't make them out to be anything other than that. Thank you.
