DAILY CITIZEN Promotes Penalized CULT's Conventions

In latter June and early July 2012, newspapers across the United States, and even newspapers in Canada and England, republished the Associated Press (AP) story reporting that the WATCHTOWER CULT OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES had recently become the subject of the LARGEST JURY VERDICT EVER in the UNITED STATES against a RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION for one SINGLE VICTIM of CHILD SEX ABUSE.
That AP news article detailed the story of a 9 year-old Jehovah's Witness Girl who was repeatedly sexually molested by a fellow Jehovah's Witness congregant, and one-time congregation Ministerial Servant, who was known to the organization to have been previously convicted on child molestation charges.
However, that fact had been kept a SECRET from the victim, her parents, and other regular members of their local congregation due to the secrecy policies issued from WATCHTOWER CULT HEADQUARTERS in Brooklyn, New York.
The California civil court jury was so disgusted with WATCHTOWER CULT HEADQUARTERS's internal SECRECY policies that it not only granted a large civil damages award against the Perpetrator, but the jury also granted a $21 MILLION DOLLARS PUNITIVE DAMAGES AWARD -- stacked on top of an approximate $2 MILLION DOLLARS ACTUAL DAMAGES AWARD -- against the WATCHTOWER CULT's HEADQUARTERS.
Interestingly, a google search of the archives of the DALTON DAILY CITIZEN yields no coverage of the international news story about the WATCHTOWER CULT and its problems with CHILD SEX ABUSE.
Instead, in the very wake of this recent DISGRACEFUL NEWS about the WATCHTOWER CULT --- which has led critics to label the Cult a "PEDOPHILE'S PARADISE --- on Friday, July 20, 2012, the DALTON DAILY CITIZEN finally published an article PROMOTING the WATCHTOWER CULT's series of six "District Conventions" being held at the NW Georgia Convention & Trade Center --- which first started back in late June when the CHILD SEX ABUSE story first hit the news.
Does anyone else suspect that the DALTON DAILY CITIZEN intentionally refused to carry the Associated Press story so as not to offend their friends at the WATCHTOWER CULT --- PLUS keep local Dalton citizens in the dark about the WATCHTOWER CULT'S ongoing CHILD SEX ABUSE problems?
The DALTON DAILY CITIZEN article, which was written by reporter CHARLES OLIVER, contained NO REAL NEWS which might interest Dalton area readers and subscribers. Instead, Charles Oliver produced a classic "puff piece" article, which consisted of a series of self-serving "sound bites" provided by multiple pre-prepared Watchtower Cult spokespersons.
The DALTON DAILY CITIZEN and reporter Charles Oliver passed up a golden opportunity to perform some genuine journalism, and question WATCHTOWER CULT representatives about the Cult's child molestation issues, and specifically about the recent California jury verdict that set the record for the LARGEST JURY VERDICT EVER in the United States AGAINST A RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION for one single VICTIM OF CHILD SEX ABUSE.
Local readers, subscribers, and advertisers of The DALTON DAILY CITIZEN should ask themselves whether the owners and editors at The DALTON DAILY CITIZEN are making decisions which best serve the interests of local readers, subscribers, and advertisers, or are kowtowing to their new friends at the WATCHTOWER CULT?

Interestingly, this DALTON DAILY CITIZEN article authored by reporter Charles Oliver also FAILED to mention how much FINANCIAL FUNDING is being provided to the WATCHTOWER CULT by local Dalton Politicians.
YES, thanks to local government officials at the City of Dalton and at Whitfield County Government, and officials at the Dalton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and officials at the NW Georgia Trade and Convention Center, the WATCHTOWER CULT is receiving an UNDISCLOSED amount of LOCAL GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL FUNDING.
In 2010, local government Officials at the City of Dalton and at Whitfield County Government cut a deal with the Brooklyn, New York world headquarters of the WATCHTOWER CULT OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES to turn Dalton into one of the CULT's regional convention headquarters --- holding approximately 4-6 Circuit Assemblies each Spring, and another 4-6 Circuit Assemblies each Fall, plus holding approximately 5-6 larger District Conventions each Summer.
Since 2010, the local media has on mutiple occasions quoted local government officials, officials at the Dalton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and officials at the NW Georgia Trade and Convention Center ALL PRAISING the DEAL made with the WatchTower Cult.
However, I have yet to find a single media article which details the SPECIFICS of the DEAL cut with the Cult by local officials. One media article vaguely indicates that the taxpayer-subsidized Convention Center is giving the WatchTower Cult a heavily discounted rate on its multiple conventions --- that is, assuming the Cult is paying anything at all.
Those familar with the operations of the WatchTower Cult's Convention Bureau in Brooklyn, New York, know that in addition to negotiating FREE or NEAR-FREE rental of convention venues, the Cult also seeks to extract CASH KICKBACKS of motel taxes from local governments.
In October 2008, the HUNTSVILLE TIMES revealed that the WatchTower Cult was RELOCATING its Huntsville conventions to Birmingham in 2009 because Huntsville was ONLY offering the Cult a 71.5% discount on the venue rental rate, and ONLY kicking-back $6000.00 CASH for EACH convention. Apparently, the City of Birmingham had offered an even better rental rate and even larger kickbacks.
Is it not time that Dalton and Whitfield government officials DISCLOSE the specifics of the deal they made back in 2009-10 to get the WatchTower Cult to come running to Dalton? Is it not time that the local media reported those specifics to local voters and taxpayers? Apparently, that will happen ONLY if local VOTERS and TAXPAYERS force their local elected government officials and local media outlets to make that disclosure.

You're wasting your time. Half of Dalton's population can't speak, read or write English, and most of the remainder are semiliterate, at best. Dalton is a mill town, and even if the mill hands could read, they don't comprehend, participate in, or care about local government matters.
