Has anyone heard about all the planned layoffs and them getting rid of LPN's ?

The rumor is they have been losing lots of $$$ each month, so I would not be surprised to hear they are making cuts...Just like most they will cut from the bottom up....

They could save tons of money if they would stop giving away free medical care to all the illegals and their anchors who have invaded Dalton and surrounding counties for nonemergencies.I had to be treated at the ER for an emergency during the 4th of July, and the ER was full of hispanics with the sniffles.I even watched a group of hispanics who were jabbering in spanish and laughing like they were having a party.I assumes they were there with someone else who was sick.I was shocked when the loudest one of them all was called back for triage and treatment. They use the ER for nonemergency treatment which drives up the cost for citizens who pay their hospital bills. Our insurance companies get billed outrageous amounts which drives up the cost of our monthly premimums. If you don't think we pay extra for our personal medical care to cover the non-paying illegals, think again.

The hospital is not immune to the economy. People tend to not go to the doctor or hospital when they do not have insurance therefore there are less patients. The hospital has to run like a business and has cut costs just like everybody else. It sounds like the hospital is using good judgment and is being responsible to the community. It makes sense to use the most effective care givers possible who ever they may be.

I agree that in these hard times cuts have to be made, but cutting the nursing staff is not the way to go, they already have more than they can handle and patient care will be what suffers. There are floors already operating with one nurse per shift at times. What is going to happen if there is an emergency ? Would you want your family member to be the one it is tested on ?

They may cut staff, but judging from my bill, they haven't cut any costs that the consumers have to pay !!!

I hope and pray that i never have to go to Hamilton or Murray Co for anything serious, I let my family know that I want to go to Memorial or Erlanger and if my family takes me or leaves me at Hamilton or Murray for something serious, that when which ever hospital kills me I will come back AND HAUNT MY FAMILY for the rest of their lives.!

I hear the top dogs at Hamiltion Medical make hundreds of thousands of dollars each per year. Why don't they cut their pay instead of the folks that actually work (housekeeping,nursing,lab,x-ra y,resp therapy, dietary, engineering,et c...)? Maybe cut out the paid memberships at Dalton Country Club and the Farm?

Or a better idea. Start accepting the 3 largest insurance companies in america, and get rid of the "Alliant insurance" monopoly they have going with the hamilton medical group.

Hamilton medical center even hired the FORMER CEO OF ALLIANT HEALTH CARE. The healthcare around here is a joke, and apparently, our politicians are in somebody's back pocket.

Cartersville Medical Center is hiring RNs. New positions are available in all areas of the hospital for RNs. Visit CMC careers site at www.usrhealthcare.com or call 1-800-826-8127.

Hamilton needs new management over nursing. That Keys lady that is in charge treats the staff terrible. She is only out to make herself look good no matter what the cost is to the staff. If they are making all of these changes, then maybe they should replace the ones making the problems instead of the lower level staff that are just doing their jobs.

I was at the Hamilton Medical ER recently for treatment and in my room, there was a spanish bible, but there was not an english bible nowhere.Looks like they cater to the hispanics that clutter their ER for non emergency care for the sniffles. The only caring person who treated me was the young Doctor who was a kind person, the radiology tech, and the lady who took my blood.

From what I hear, this new CEO has it to where hamilton doesn't accept some of the big insurance carriers in this area. Also the doctors see what is happening too, when patient care staff are cut,it affects the care of their patients.

Ms Keys makes the staff accountable for patient care excellence and always has. Look at yourself. It sounds like you did not meet that accountabilty. Step up to the plate...you are part of what makes nursing a sucess.

There's a law that if you're an Illegal immigrant and you have an emergency surgery; you can have all of the cost taken away. I'm sure that's not helping the situation. I'm sure that law is intended for people from like Canada who have free healthcare and are here on vacation, but is getting abused from people who actually live here.
