A town is pretty much on its last leg when they go along with giving up a third of the city's tax base, along with their only historic theater, to a rock n roll, holy rolling, cult. It serves as a red flag to any intelligent entity, who might be considering a move to the area.

I'm just asking because I know nothing of that place, but is it really a cult? I mean, what makes it a cult? I am honestly just asking.

its just a church....a church for young people who like a different style of christian music. Please think before you speak badly of church. Especially when you have no clue what is about. Its by far no cult.

OK just wondering because I have heard it called a cult before this thread too.

Cult: a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.

It's a cult.

I do not know anything about it, but it did make me wonder because this is not the first time I've heard it called that, so I figure something must be making people say that.

You must have this church confused with Grove level baptist church.

No, it was Rockbridge. I've never heard of Grove.

Rockbridge is a Christian church not a cult. Everyone who goes there is not Christia, same as any church. And the Christians who do go there are not perfect, same as any church again.

My question refers to the second post here... Rockbridge and all these other businesses listed dont pay city taxes??? Somebody help me here

The building the church is in was empty for MANY years. They bought it, made extensive repairs and use it. Period. ALL Church's are tax exempt. Someone is just trying to cause problems. Yawn.

What! Matt does not smoke pot! RockBridge is a great Christian Church that we have attended for three years! Matt is a wonderful, well spoken, entertaining, knowledgeable minister. We love RockBridge and will never leave it! My daughter really loves The Link which is for teens. One will not regret attending or becoming a member of this awesome church!!!

It's a place for the weak-minded to commune with each other and financially support a den of professional con artists.

Wanna be mega church. A lot of the people that attend these untraditional mega churches are good folks i think. The real problem is they become lost in the shuffle and are taken advantage of. It is really just all about increasing membership and money from these type churches.

Did you know .14 of every dollar goes back into missions?

Local:
-Food-drops. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of food handed out to those in need --> FREE*

-Mobil Health units.(RB Purchased two from Hamilton Hospital) Bringing physicians care to those in need --> FREE*

-Back pack buddies. Thousands of pounds of food packed into backpacks every week for kids who are on free or reduced lunches so they can have food for the whole weekend.--> FREE*

-Taken communities like Little Mexico and given them resources. Food, Health care, Clothing etc...
--> FREE*

These are just a few things Rock Bridge Community Church does. Why don't you go to a service at one of the 5 campuses this Easter weekend there will be 23 services for you to get out of your old, dead beat, dried up church and come to something that is alive and actually being the hands and feet of Jesus. Not just gathering weekly to get dressed up, see the same few folks, listen to a message that does absolutely nothing to or for you because you leave exactly how you came.

Rock Bridge glorifies God by connecting PEOPLE from ALL WALKS of life to LIFE in Christ! and Rock Bridge does that by Loving God. Loving Others and Living Sent.
