Has anyone got an interview with any of these companies? If so did you use the company webites to apply for jobs? I am curious if the websites are just for show and no actual hiring is done from them.

Why would you want to work for them anyway? Let them continue to recruit unsuspecting yankees - just consider it revenge.

How's your Spanish, amigo? Half of the jobs in Dalton require Spanish fluency. You may have to resubmit your applications in Spanish.

Yes, i agree with the comment above. employers do prefer to hire someone smart, hardworking and bilingual. Not a lazy individual that's going to set around talk all day and snack. Yes i said it!!! Since you guys end up making it racial.

Just because you are bilingual doesn't mean you are smart and hardworking!

I agree with smile. Those ever forward thinking, genius employers recruited several thousand illegal and unskilled, but very cost effective, workers, who can't speak a word of English, and now they have no choice but to hire thoses "smart, hardworking and bilingual individuals that's not going to set around all day and snack."

Are you all that desperate? Can you not find some other type of job besides carpet? This is sad because you have absolutely no hope for a future. That was the happiest day of my life when I got laid off because it gave me an incentive to go try something else and go back to school.

I tried the school route after my first layoff 5 years ago from Springs Industries(plant closed). I took electronics from local tech school until they dropped the program after I had completed 1 year. So I spent the past 4 years working in metal fabrication. To answer your question, I would dearly love to find something else besides carpet, but when you are approaching the big 50 the opportunities are few and far between. Anyway thanks for a decent reply. It seems on topixs you more often get the idiots.

Hi there, I heard they are hiring at Shaw but im not 100% sure. It doesn't hurt to try. You should consider staffing agencies. It seems like they are the only ones hiring. Hope you find something soon. Good luck!
