I think it is great that SHAW is getting their own medical center in dalton ga. It's suppose to be cheaper and fast appointments without waiting. Probably because no one from outside will be able to go there. Only shaw workers and family. Shaw really knows how to take care of their employees.

I wouldn't want my employer to know all of my medical information.

It was said to be confidential only the doctors and nurses will know. That was what was stated in the letter they gave us.

It's just wonderful news for Dalton. Lots and lots of new jobs for Spanish speaking medical workers. Pablo says, thanks Roberto, you're the man. The gringos will all be gone before you know it.

Robert "Bob" Shaw, if that's who you're talking about, has nothing to do with Shaw Floors anymore. He owns Engineered Floors now.

When are they going to open the company store so we can have the Crown Mill Village all over again.

At least the cotton mill didn't dump their employee's families on the taxpayers. They also provided housing and schools.

I believe that the employees of The Crown Cotton Mill and The Threadmill had to pay rent for their houses. They did not get those for free. It sounds like Shaw is doing the same thing as Mohawk has done. You can go to the Company Doctor for certain things but not for others. Their insurance has a huge deductable now and you have to meet it before they pay for anything. No co-pay to other doctor's offices. You have to pay the full bill and that will go toward your deductible. I prefer to go to the doctor of my choice and not be forced to go to the Company Doctor. Most people cannot afford the deductible that Mohawk has now. As usual, it's what's best for the company and not the employees. Glad I don't work for either one of them.

"As usual, it's what's best for the company and not the employees."

You can extend that statement to include "or anyone else in the town."

Since they have been captaining the ship, Dalton has gone from upright to listing, and now, verticle in the water...it's time to man the life boats, and abandon ship...she's going down...

When the company says we're doing this for you, trust us, we won't look at your personal information and we won't use it. We're doing this for you! How safe do you feel now?

Pablo knows that some birds wait until other birds build nice and cozy nest, then go in a push their eggs out, and lay their own eggs in the nest they didn't build. But, Pablo has never heard of birds that help push their own eggs out of the nest they built. Some really loco gringos. What a town!!! Thanks Roberto, for inviting us!!!
