Beaulieu has taken 10% of their employees wages. This is correct.....Can they do that ??? You work & they take 10% off your hourly pay....SORRY PLACE TO HAVE TO WORK. Poor excuse of a carpet company. Does anyone else know or care what they are doing to their employees? This is an absolute injustice.Wake up Dalton it could be your place of business next.

My husband works at beaulieu. Yes they are doing this to everyone who for them. I personally think it's terrible. They treat them like dirt & pay them no better. I am thankful that my husband still has a job. To add on the payroll cut our health insurance is going up also.

Funny that all of a sudden they are cutting pay and benefits after the immigration bill has passed. Seem that maybe they weren't aware of the "true cost" of doing business and now they are in a state of panic.

They know they can get away with it because their employees can't get a job anywhere else right now. The Calhoun plant has lost about 10 illegal employees since the immigration bill has passed. This is a laugh because of the large hispanic population at this plant about 80 percent are illegal. I can't figure out why they are cutting pay and still adding machines to this plant. Any ideas?

How are we supposed to be able to afford groceries now? I hope the interest rate stays low because with the pay cuts we may be making payments on our groceries and gasoline.

Here's my question to you guys.... had you rather have the massive lay offs that Shaw is having or have everyone's pay cut 10%? A lower paying job is better than no job.

I just know of companies in the past that gave this option to their workers: lay offs or percentage pay cuts for all, and the workers unanimously chose the pay cuts. I know that 10% is extreme, and can be quite and audacious number, but I feel like it is more important to look at the bigger picture: there are not massive layoffs. I would much rather have the security of having a pay cut but a job than know that I might be one of the many being laid off.

Here's an article on the advantages and disadvantages of pay cuts instead of people cuts:
http://www.bnet.com/article/the-art-of-cuttin...

Now let me actually address your comment to me:
Okay, great comeback. First of all, if you're going to call me ignorant, at least use proper grammar. Otherwise, you are the one that looks ignorant (your sentence should read: You're ignorant, stupid, and probably white trash, Well Read. Notice how the items in a series are all together. Also, when you address someone, you should include commas before and after their name, which of course, should be capitalized since it is a proper noun, unless it is followed by an ending punctuation or at the beginning of the sentence.).
As far as the ignorant comment goes, the dictionary defines ignorant as having a lack of knowledge. I believe we all fit this category, Yournottoobrightstupid (by the way, your should be you're in your name).
I don't use the word stupid because I have family members and church members who are mentally impaired and grew up with that label. It is both a hurtful and ignorant word to use, but (what was it Forrest Gump said-- oh yes!) Stupid is as Stupid does.

And, finally, as far as your white trash comment goes, I find it both ironic and capricious that someone like yourself, who chooses to banter instead of involving yourself in a argument or discussion, calls me white trash.

I agree with having a job is better then not having one but beaulieu seems to be abusing the system. Between the suppressed wages due to the illegals and pay cuts. I just wonder how many employees they have that are receiving entitlements(hand out) programs such as food stamps, medicare and etc due to their adjusted pay.

Momma always told me, "Don't dish it out if you can't take it!".

By the way, I'm not a supervisor, I'm in education, and our pay has been cut every year for the past 3 years. Although I hate it, I like the security of having a job.

And, part of the definition of a forum is a discussion. Calling people names and being rude has nothing to do with a discussion.
