School taxes should not be in the control of a school board . They should only be raised by voting on a referendum by all citizens in that school district!

Don't the citizens have the power to replace school board members? Members are accountable to the taxpayers. Vote them out if you think they are not responsible but I think more people need to realize that teacher contracted salary increases, mandated contributions to their pension plan, & increases in their health care plan premiums will always increase as the taxpayer & students are held hostage by threat of strikes by their union.

All this optomistic TALK now; what about 2 or 3 years from now? All the school districts are looking backwards; what is in the future? The wages, salaries and costs will have to be paid, union or no union. At 1.5% annual increase, in 48 years costs will double and this graduating class will be 66 years old and they will complain. All you geniuses that write on this post and the 912's where are your creative ideas to finance education? How about a tax on sports for education? How about a tax on the media for education?
