"Miller said he thinks the support from the York 912 Patriots helped him as much as it hurt him. He declined to elaborate."
I wish Miller would have elaborated on how it "hurt". I can only guess it is in refrence to the lack of credibility and honesty Mrs. Burkholder has as well as the general 912 leadership.

So are other conservatives fake?

As one looks around York County one sees many incumbents losing, even good ones who were fiscal conservatives like Carroll Tignall in Dallastown Region 3.
Mr. Blevins, the business as usual liberal appointed by the liberal board majority at Dallastown won with many other candidates in Region 3 splitting the vote and helping him to win.
Mr. Lytle, who won with him there for the second seat is no friend of Stewart Weinberg.
If Mr. Blevins wants to "improve the atmosphere" in Dallastown it should probably start with Weinberg's resignation as superintendent.
I say this not as a mean or disparaging thing, but seriously. I think everyone from Tea Partiers to teacher union members and supporters in the Dallastown district have no faith or confidence in his leadership.

Incumbents did indeed lose all over York County from Ralph Marston (architect of the Superintendent Tracy Shank ouster) in the South Eastern district to Tignall and Yoder in the Dallastown district to Zito and Reed in the Central district, among others.
On the Republican ballot for a 2 year seat in Red Lion Region 3, incumbent James Duff lost to Stephen Simpson. He tied with Simpson at 106 votes each on the Democrat side. They will toss a coin to determine a winner if that holds.
In Eastern Region 1, liberal Judith Higgins lost on the Republican side not getting one of the three spots. She's still on the Democrat side this fall.
I don't think conservative "tea partiers" won a lot, but the tea party spirit was there in ousting incumbents all over the place, especially in the Republican primaries.

Really...who cares who won or lost? The real story here is the extremely low voter turnout; less than 20%!!! We constantly complain about our government and elected officials, and when we have a chance for our voice to be heard through the ballot box, and what do we do - take a back seat. Congratulations to the winners who won by the majority of the voters who took the time to vote. I often wonder what the outcomes would be if we had 100% participation ~ probably somewhat different.

Want to increase voter turnout? Move election day to April 14th, the day before tax day.

"In the know" knows. We will find out if the makeup of the D-Town board has really changed if they ask for Dr. Weinberg's resignation when they are seated this December.

I have no evidence to support my opinion, but being cynical and suspicious by nature, I suspect the following.
That some candidates were plants by the teacher's union, and that the union had a low level get out the vote campaign among union members and teachers to elect candidates who will be favorable to continue the tax and tax and tax policies to raise teacher's salaries and fringe benefits.
That these candidates might have preached fiscal responsibility, and consideration of taxpayers who have incomes less than half of what teachers earn, with none of the health care and retirement that teachers get, but have no intention of constraining taxes.
Words mean nothing, especially in elections. The proof will be in their actions, and in our tax bill
