Police log: Partner accused of stealing $85,000 from business

A partner at a Jacobus business allegedly stole more than $85,000 from the business by forging checks and depositing them in her personal bank account, police said.

Shawn Chambers-Galis is the president of a non-profit organzation that was started to help victims of homicide. There appears they may be some inappropriate use of funds. Although the details are not know yet the feelings of betrayal are being felt among many victims. I helped the cause and I don't know now if the monies benefited victims or ms Galis. Victim groups advocate victimizes victims is an outcry.

Here's a comment made in May 2006 from Ms. Chambers-Galis:

"We need to stop running our prisons on a budget," she said. "These people are in jail for horrific acts. They're there for a reason. If in our society, we want to curtail murders and violence, we have to make sure we are clear to people what the consequences will be."

I guess stealing should be added to that list.

Thats horrible. I read about that. How can someone steal from a partner's company and steal from a victim's rights group? It will be interesting to follow this story and see just who else, or other companies/ groups this horrible woman may have stolen from!

It makes you wonder if all donations were sent to her home address and in her name, as the website for JUST directs, and she is refusing to turn over financial statements and records as the lady on channel 43 said she was, where are all the donations people made in memory of their loved ones going? Did you see her get into that Jaguar on the news, with her Louis Vitton purse, my guess, the donations went there, along with that companies stolen money. Didn't her husband, Norbert Galis get charged with embezzlement a few years ago in Dauphin County?

You gotta be a sick individual to steal from friends, and to take advantage of a victim's rights group, if indeed that is what happened. I looked up her daughter's criminal record because I was curious about her statements to channel 8. She claims her mother isn't a criminal yet you should see this girl's criminal record. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Looks like a mother daughter team to me. And if that is her husband/ ex-husband who was charged with embezzlement...Just sick.I feel bad for that company and for JUST, and their families if indeed she is found guilty of the charges.

What a nightmare! And to think this woman is a realtor and has access to so many people's personal information, credit reports, bank statements...I bet this is going to be a huge case in the end...

Shawn Chambers Galis was just hired by EXIT Diamond of Lancaster as a realtor. SO you can be charged with forgery and theft and have a history of it, but still be hired in a job where you can have access to the general public? Anyone know anyone at EXIT Diamond? This is a different office from EXIT Four Star of Mt. Joy. From what I hear that EXIT of Mt Joy booted her out as soon as this came to light.

I guess EXIT Diamond must be desperate for realtors that they'd hire an alleged criminal. Or they are that stupid and have no idea what the news showed or any of this. I feel sorry for any client of EXIT Diamond. Obviously they don't care about protecting their clients nor providing the best realtors.

Well I guess when they realize they are missing money, or when she is charged with the JUST thefts, we can all say DUH!

I just can't believe this trashy looking, no morals woman is still on the loose and able to steal from the public in a new job.

She is no longer a realtor with EXIT Diamond from what we can tell. My guess we'll read somewhere that one of the owners tired to rape her, or had an affair with her or her daughter, and that is why she left....hopefully they realized what a liability she was and got rid of her.
