Choose carefully on this one--hiring a superintendent is really BIG and W's already said he's retiring...

BTW, where's Pandelidis on this one? His brother's kids are in the district and his new hospital is in DASD--why isn't he making noise on this election? Are there tea-baggers in this race like at YS? That group scares me because their agenda is all about money. I get the idea of keeping costs down, but having money as a single-minded agenda item can only lead to trouble. Look what happened at Central a few years ago when their taxpayers group got on the school board--What a mess they created.

Hope his partners are aware that his name (and therefore his practice--OSS)is associated with negativity, and is considered anti-student and anti-education. Gotta be good news for those who compete with his practice for orthopaedic patients!

"Incumbent Donald Yoder Jr. said the biggest challenge is leadership, and board members will have to choose a new superintendent, reduce the cost to educate a child and preserve Dallastown's unique environment. Yoder said he is an experienced leader and has the wisdom and courage to do what is needed."

Hey yoder are you serious?? You choose the last supt weinberg that helped bring this mess? Reduce costs? Really yoder? Where have you been the last 5 years while YOU yoder have done nothing but spend??? And now you see the light?? yoder you are a joke and a liar. Your leadership yoder is the last thing this district needs.

I was there and sadly the turnout was very poor...maybe 75 people. It's clear some of the cadidates are upset about the current situation, but do not have a clue how to fix it.

If people don't get up to speed and make some good choices in the primary, I fear the district will suffer even more....

Interesting the comments by the incumbents about preserving the uniqueness at Dallastown after voting to outsource food services, something that interacts with students every day.

Yoder voted via phone after being called by the superintendent because he felt he needed the vote.

"Incumbent Ronald Blevins, a Republican who is cross-filed, said the budget crisis is forcing the district to face cruel financial realities. To balance its budget, the district must reduce expenses without undermining instruction. Blevins said he is a child advocate first."

Remember Blevin's was the hand picked replacement by the overtax and spenders on the current board. Blevin's is just another weinberg, botterbusch, yoder tax and spend candidate. Hold on to your wallet if he remains on the board along with yoder
