West York has held it athletes to those same standards for years. At West York any grade under 70 is a failing grade.
They have no D's. I'm wondering why you don't get the facts straight. I know for a fact you use to live in the West York District. As for academics I would not put Eastern in
the top. Try bottom third.

I think your misreading what he is trying to say. What I got from this story was in most other districts including yours and mine (for that matter) they hold them to a 70% AVERAGE of all their classes combined, there is a HUGE difference. Eastern's kids can't get below 70% in ANY of their classes. He didn't rank them high in academics, he ranked their standards and priorities high. Which I agree is a especially commendable for a school that isn't ranked very high academically in York county.
