I think religion these days is too much about politics. Why can't everyone just worship God and keep the politics for the government.
this has nothing to do with politics. it has to do with the church going against the word of god!! it is immoral and a sin. bottom line!! |

1 I will guarantee that the ELCA has never taken a vote which says it is okay for their pastors to live in active adultery or fornication. However, the ELCA has taken a vote to say that it okay for their pastors to be active homosexuals. They are not hypocrites on that score, but you may be a liar if you accuse them of something that is not true. |

When one party remarries after a divorce based on non-biblical grounds, that person commits adultery because God has not recognized the validity of the divorce (Matthew 5:32, Mark 10:11).
They have no problem with ministers that have remarried after divorce on non-Biblical grounds. |

1 Once again people posting what they think are facts instead of learning the truth beforehand. First denominations are not churches, those Born Again into Christ Jesus are the True Church. Second if you want to use the word church anyway, well there were churches long before the Catholic Church and they were Christian not Catholic and obeyed the Word of the Living God. |

In regard to my statement that the ELCA never took a vote to allow adultery or fornication, I do agree that it is wrong for those guilty in a non-scriptural divorce should also not be in the ministry, whether or not they remarry. If they remarry, the Bible is clear that they are committing adultery. However, I do not believe that ELCA voted to accept that. Unfortunately, it is so common and uncontroversial they did not need to. Makes me glad I am not a member of the ELCA.

1 Interesting comment. |

I can because they are supposed to hate the sin not the sinner. What they are doing is hating both and using the Bible to do it. |
I'm not so sure this is about hate, but about the need for respect for your leaders and who they surround themselves with. |
You DO know that Martin Luther was an anti-Semite, don't you? Guess that's okay by you, isn't it? |
Like anyone cares about a crazy-ass bunch of child molesters like the RCC endorses. |
I'm sure the Lutherans are just heartbroken at your disapproval. |

1 -- your comment about hating to "another commenter" leaving his church has nothing to do with hating anyone but is about the church making ACCEPTABLE something not ACCEPTABLE! Christians have compassion for all people, whomever they are or regardless of what they have done. BUT those same Christians are saying NO to allowing perversions to be considered Normal in their church! Homosexuals should NOT be ordained in any mainstream church because they are OPENLY SINNING. We are not just talking about gays but LGBT people – which includes cross dressers, transvestites, homosexuals - the whole nine yards!! Do you want someone who has had a sex change or a transvestite leading you in your church? I say .. if they want to be a LGBT person, go make your own church 'cause you don't belong leading mine. That said ... the "Jesus users" who are ordained and using the church to provide them a good living, all the perks, etc but are NOT performing the duties that go along with that title of PASTOR, you should go too!! Add to that, the members of these churches should not be allowing them to STAY 'cause they think it is "unchristian" to protest these people. Get real!! Churches and congregations today have a lot of issues to deal with and these Political issues DO NOT belong in the church. We need to be teaching the basics, how to live in this world today, and we should NOT be promoting genetic defects or sexual perversions as "normal!" |

Well, personally, I have to agree with this. If the church is going to uphold Biblical standards (and I believe it SHOULD!) then it has to be across the board--regardless of what denomination it is.. |
I guarantee you the Lutherans in your community are more grateful for that than you are. Who would want to worship or even associate with such a self-righteous little twerp? |
