I went to Toys R Us today and noticed TGIFridays was out of business. When did they close? I guess I don't get out much!

I haven't been over there in awhile either, but are you sure they weren't closed due to the water situation?

Not surprised they are permanently closed...if they are and it's just not the water thing.

What a terrible location for a restaurant. It was really buried up there on the hill and it is a pain to get in and out of. I lived here for at least a year before I knew it was there!

Outback is in a tough-to-see location as well. Ruby Tuesday is another one that surprises me that they are still open: there is NEVER anyone in there. I have been there twice in the past 1.5 years and there really wasn't more than 5 or 6 other parties dining in there.

I was unaware the TGIF was closed either. In regards to Ruby Tuesdays, the last time I went there was about a month ago with my daughter. It had a bad smell in the restaurant and the salad bar look horrible. We were 2 of about 10 customers in there. I will not be going there again.....it waw really bad.

O'Charleys is my favorite!!

The TGI Friday's website still shows the Douglasville location.
I would think it is the water thing that has them temporarily closed.

O'Charleys is my favorite as well for a quick lunch spot. Good service.

...you are right about the smell...same thing at the Outback the last time or two we were there...it's an old mop/old bar rag type smell. Ick.

Did you know the old bar rag smell dates back to the Phonecians?

It's amazing to me how some of these restaurants seem to have ever heard of bleach. Christ folks, CLEAN the place or we will NOT come back. Ruby's needs to replace their carpet, I bet the pad is black with mold. I'm glad iHop finally got rid of that urinated bathroom scent, again all it takes is bleach people. You want our money but you can't get your under-the-table labor to clean the place so it doesn't stink? And how on earth do the health inspectors miss this? Do they run around the place with lysol when they see him pull up?

Another thing; with flu season approaching and 2 major class strains to deal with, it's time for restaurants to stop this practice of seating all of us right next to each other. I plan to request seating away from everyone else and when you say "that section is closed" I am going to leave. I KNOW it's convenient for your staff to bunch us all together, but things are different now. Get with the program and open the whole dining area so we don't have to breathe each others flu. CF

It would seem that there are never enough health inspectors to get around to all the restaurants.

Charles.....did your family make it through the deluge ok?

CF, I wholeheartedly agree with you, My Uncle who has been in the meat business all of his adult life says" If it don't smell like bleach, it ain't clean."

I know a girl that worked there. She posted on her facebook that Fridays had closed the doors for good and she was job hunting. It was just a few days ago.

T.G.I. closed
didn't eat there anyway. Just another bubble-headed chicken finger place with expensive onions and a good long wait time.

I only ate there really once a year and that was on the 4th of July. Grab a late afternoon table with the wife and kids and stay for a couple hours. Walk outside where the truck was perfectly oriented to watch the fireworks perched upon that hill. When something goes away it's good to change things up after a while.

Problem was there never was a wait. It was one of my family's favorite places because you could go on Friday or Saturday night and never have to wait and the food was always good. BAD location.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Taurus

Someone gets in a bit of a muddle today and it could take some unravelling. For instance, they might get their wires crossed, leading to all sorts of misunderstandings. You might also encounter someone who is trying to rewrite history, perhaps because they can't bear to remember things as they really were. Should you set them straight or leave well alone?
