Sen. Gooch to visit Union Co. Saturday

State Sen. Steve Gooch will be visiting Union County on Saturday to answer questions about the current state legislative session and the General Assembly's budget process.

I was really surprised that only about a dozen people showed up at this meeting with Senator Gooch.

One thing that he did that made me forever like him is that he helped Lumpkin County by encouraging and allowing citizen input and he put that county on a path to a multi-commissioner, representative county government, even though he was a good ol' boy from there.
