Chuck Norris : 6 Reasons Obama-Care Is Bad Medicine

Full story: townhall.com

No one denies that in an affluent country such as our own, it borders on tragic that millions do not have some form of health care. I feel for those Americans; I really do. I agree that health care reform is needed badly in America, but I don't believe the bill of goods called "universal health care" that is being pitched presently by our president contains the solution. In fact, I believe it is bad medicine for America. --First, universal health care unwisely is being rushed. Should sweeping health care reform be enacted in a world-record time? Just like the stimulus packages and bogus bailout baloney, Obama-care is being shoved downed America's throat (without explanation) and propelled like a ramrod through Congress (without examination). I call it the Obama blitzkrieg: create crisis; crunch numbers; and cram legislation. The fact is the president continues to sell the program, but there is still no single plan he or Congress is ready to sell. --Second, universal health care clearly would drive our country deeper into debt, which is being progressively purchased by foreign powers without any concern by Washington to stop it. Obama said in his nationally televised news conference, "Health care reform is not going to add to that deficit; it's designed to lower it." How can he say that when they haven't even settled on a single health care plan? When he doesn't know the far-reaching implications of offering it in every community across the nation? The president is struggling to base his rhetoric in fiscal reality. Even according to the Congressional Budget Office, the Senate version of the health care legislation "would result in a net increase in federal deficits of about $1.0 trillion for fiscal years 2010 through 2019." Is that what you call good fiscal responsibility within an economy and government that already is bordering on bankruptcy?

Roger that on being rushed. If it takes almost 6 months to pick out a dog, how can you expect to pass a health care bill through Congress in a couple of weeks? And how many of them have actually read the darn thing, over 1,000 pages? You can't morally vote for or against something you haven't even read and/or understand.

Societies appear to be subject every now and then to periods of moral panic. We may indeed be experiencing one of those periods.

United States government does not move swiftly. Health care was a mess several years ago when Hillary presented a "change" package that was thrown aside. Rather than continue discussions, the idea was thrown aside and conditions have worsened. Maybe Obama's plan isn't perfect, but something needs to change. Just think, it was only 100 years between the end of the War Between the States and the Civil Rights Movement. Maybe in a hundred years, we can have fair health care.

I am not knocking anyones views on health care: I was paying $15.00 a visit to my Health Care Provider when CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield went up $5.00 more: One Prescription Cost me $184.00 and that was for only 30 Pills: This is Insane People like Chuck Norris can afford to pay more but the Working Man or Woman really can't afford it unless you work for the Government which I do: But in about 2 years I wont be and it will cost me more when I Retire than it is costing me now: Medicare only pays for so much and you need extra medical insurance just to get by: Lets face it we need better Medical Care and we need it now: As I see it if we don't do something about it now we never will: I would prefer to have better Medical Care then nothing at all.

A lot of the money we pay into Health care right now is now being used to Lobby against Reform ,The Health Care providers have been on the gravy train to long,We have Doctors and we have patients we need someone in the middle with less concern about incentives to increase their bonus by denying or canceling claims because of bogus pre exsiting conditions.I would personaly like to see a government option I would have more control over what is done through my elected officials than I would have with a large insurance Company that is only concerned about profit.Thy pay small people like Chuck Norris and others to try to scare people in to keeping things as they are.its a billion of our dollar Media blitz

I don't have insurance because I choose not to. I think it is a rip off. I pay the 65 dollar fee to go to a doctor and that is fine with me.

What is not fine is if this bill is passed and I don't have private insurance or I don't get on the plan, I pay anyway. around 1000 a year.

Once the government forces doctors to take the pay cut that this "Healthcare reform" will cause, doctors will stop giving a tinkers damn and the health care industry will go to hell in a hand basket.

Right now medicaid parents take their kids to the emergency room every time their kid gets a sniffle. The last time I was at the emergency room with my son who could barely breath we waited while several kids who were skipping around the waiting room were taken first.

Two men in the waiting area had bloody rags around their hands from bad cuts. If my son hadn't been having trouble breathing I would not have been there.

People who abuse the system make it impossible for people who are really sick to get good medical care at a reasonable price.

No I'd rather pay the money. If I get a catastrophic illness then Ill go to MCV. Until then I'm happy with no insurance.

And yes I am a parent who's kids have medicaid but I don't take them to the emergency room unless it really is an emergency.

Apparently the same place you got your expertise. But he didn't skip class.

At least he has a column on:

townhall.com/columnists/ChuckNorris

and writes articles for a Conservative Republican Political Column, giving Opinions, Views, and his thoughts on today’s Issues.

What have you done lately?

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Capricorn

This is a marvellous day for having a discreet word in someone's ear. You'll be able to choose your words carefully, making you very tactful and considerate, and as a result you will have a helpful conversation. This is also a good opportunity to talk about topics that are very dear to your heart, or which are usually too private to mention.
