I wished that I had read these reviews before I rented. The manager does a great job of selling the place, and by most outward appearances, it does seem like a decent apt complex. But then the first weekend we were here, my car was scratched by some black kids that were playing in the parking lot, I watched a black guy get arrested by the US Marshall, and the amount of expensive cars with huge rims that rolled through here made me think I was on the southside of the Burg! Won't be renewing my lease in 10 months.
IT'S EXTREMELY SAY AND DISAPPOINTING TO SEE A COMMENT LIKE THIS. AS A BLACK WOMAN I FIND IT VERY OFFENSIVE TO NARROW YOUR ANGER TOWARD BLACK PEOPLE TO TWO SEPERATE OCCASIONS. YOU SHOULD PROBLALBY DO SOME RESEARCH TO FIND THAT BLACK MEN AND CHILDREN ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH THAT HAVE SCRATCHED A CAR OR BEEN ARRESTED BY THE US MARSHALL. PEOPLE WHO MAKE COMMENTS LIKE SUCH ARE NORMALLY THOSE OF A ONE-TRACKED AND BIAS MIND. AGAIN THAT COMMENT IS VERY DISPPOINTING AND IF YOU MOVE ANYWHERE ELSE IN PINELLAS PARK, YOU WILL GET THE SAME EXACT RESULTS (IF NOT WORSE) FROM THE OPPOSITE RACE. THINK ABOUT IT.:-)

As I am going through these reviews I find a lot of interesting tidbits and ill-researched material. As suggested by one of the posters, I did in fact go to http://www.pcsoweb.com/whos-in-jail/ and put in the various numbers associated with Clear Harbor. I also opened up every single name that came up. Looking up 11260, 11270 and 11780 I found ONE felony charge for marijuana and 2 misdemeanors for the substance, welfare fraud, criminal mischief, 2 counts of burglary, 2 counts of domestic battery, failure to pay child support, renters scam, writing of a bad check, one count of possession of morphine and one count of possession of prescription drug not made out to the taker (2 different people, mind you), practicing cosmetology without a license, driving without a license (a full-grown man, not a teenager) and 2 DUIs. Now, keep in mind that most of these will not be affecting the surrounding tenants, but police lights can be annoying late at night. This is a complex in Pinellas Park, a well-known semi-icky place to live depending on the subdivision. I currently live in Seminole, a very quiet and very safe/desirable place to live. It's also quite costly because it IS safe. I've lived in my current apartment for almost 2 years now and I'm only interested in moving because we need more space. If you were to type in the address for MY complex you come up with 6 pages of arrests. SIX PAGES! And I will tell you, honest to goodness, I have never once had a problem with my neighbors. Yes, kids run around and play and are loud, but kids have a lot of energy. Yes, people have smoked pot in the apartment below me, but they don't live here anymore and when asked to keep the door closed so the smell didn't permeate into the surrounding walkways, they did (until they were evicted for smoking marijuana). When you're moving into an apartment complex, you can't judge it solely based off of the criminal records of past and current residents.

As far as pools go, my complex's pool is cleaned every single day. Every day! Except that the water isn't ever really cycled out, so it's like swimming in stale warm bath water. Completely gross, even though it's cleaned every day. A pool can be cleaned ONCE a week and it's still good to swim in. If kids are using it as a restroom that is the fault of their parents, not the fault of management for not unlocking the pool restrooms on weekends, when apparently the office is closed, so I'm sure there is a correlation. That, and if kids are regularly releasing their bowels in the water, the pool would HAVE to be closed so the chemical levels could be put in a range that is safe for everyone. Be mad at the parents.

To the poster who made racial remarks, as a young WHITE female college student even I find that offensive. My complex is pretty equally split between Caucasian and African-American residents, and I will be the first to say that it is the WHITE tenants and their WHITE children who cause the most trouble and are the loudest. The residents of color are generally the most helpful and assisting of other residents than are the white ones. Don't base an entire community or racial sect because of a few bad experiences you either CHOSE to remember or were the only ones you cared to WITNESS.

Also, basing someone's occupation from the car you see in the parking spot is quite ignorant. How do you SEE a drug dealer making a deal? I hardly think they're in the middle of the road passing around dope, so unless you're peeping in their windows when they have company over, stop making assumptions and slandering the complex you STILL CHOOSE to live in.

I've read the reviews and I've asked a ton of people a ton of questions about the general safety of the entire region that Clear Harbor is located in. After everything is said and done, I am still interested in setting up an appointment to see the complex, and will most likely be making my move there should all the pieces fall in to place.
Thanks Everyone

You all saved me and my husband from signing here. It looked like a beautiful community on the outside, but with every review being negative, there's NO WAY we're going to live here!

Clear Harbor is celebrating its 5th birthday this month! Prospects are added daily to our beautiful community's waiting lists because we are 100% occupied throughout most months of the year. Our community is beautifully maintained, professionally managed, and we welcome you to visit and see for yourself everything we have to offer for a very affordable price!

Actually, we've been here for a year and we love it. It's completely safe, well-kept, and frankly quite beautiful. The amenities (pool, laundry, etc.) are great and we're very glad to be renewing our lease. It hasn't been noisy or scary or slummy at all. They do change our AC filter every month and they are very quick and attentive about any problems that need to be addressed.

(I have to add that the negative experiences people have posted seem like a different apartment complex than this one. We've literally never encountered the negative things people are talking about here.)

In the apartment I was in the lady above was always noisy. When I advised the Property Manager she answered if you are unhappy living here.... Nice. As far as drug dealers...I have read one post that said they don't stand outside you must be looking in windows. Ok. Well then the guy I passed while taking my garbage out must've been calling his wife upstairs to find out how much garbage they had. One bag or two? And why didn't I call the police? Because management doesn't care why should I and look to the top. If you are unhappy.... GONE!!!

To respond to your post about the drug dealers and we must be looking in windows to see it, NO, but when you see cars pull in late at night, not park, but instead someone comes out of the apartment and meets the car in the parking lot and there is a quick exchange, what else could it be?? And it's always the same few apartments that this happens in.
And we don't CHOOSE to live here, we are anxiously awaiting our lease to be up and then we are GONE!

The walls haven't gotten any thicker. When the neighbors slam the doors be prepared for your sofa to shake if you are sitting on it.

Clear Harbor Apartments is a very popular community with waiting lists already in place for 2014 vacancies! Management staff work very hard to keep our grounds trash free and attractive. We thank those residents who help us by disposing of all trash responsibly and by closely supervising the behavior of their children when they are playing outside. We invite you to come and visit Clear Harbor for yourself and to see everything we have to offer!

It may concern some persons that in the breezeway/stair areas there are no fire extinguishers. However on a funnier note there were cans for cigarette butts where the extinguishers should have been...and now there are NO cans and yet there are still cigarette butts there...
