dont you wonder what it would be like to have a nice clean town again? it's been sooo long that it's as if we've all forgotten what cynthiana use to be like. you know when you could actually enjoy a stroll or a ride threw town. a time when the drugs and violence and prostitution barely exsisted or atleast werent as noticeable. we need to find a way to make our community leaders try harder to clean this place back up! im so tired of seeing drug deals every where i turn or hungry innocent children that dont deserve to have empty bellies because of their parents choices to let them do without just so they can have their fix. what happened to the old cynthiana? why? why isnt our community coming together to put a stop to this nonsence? well proably because now days most of our community is filled with druggy prostitutes and theives. but the few handfuls of us that are clean need to take control. dont sit back and let this happen! complain complain complain eventually someone will do something to clean these streets up. we need a good safe community for our children to grow up in. a place where they can have a better future and feel good about thier selves. i live in a nice neighborhood with nice neighbors. i wish it would stay that way but its not now there are druggy theives living here on the hill top everywhere you turn. i mean im very young to be concerned about this but i turned my life around and havent looked back since. theres no reason why others cant do the same. people if youre concerned start speaking up help take our town back from the mindless drugged up zombies so our chilren are insured a better brighter future with more to look foward to. do you honestly want cynthiana to stay like this? i dont want my children seeing druggies and violence every time they look outside. and i know there are more of you that feel this way so please help me find a way to stop this problem and take back our town for our sake and for the sake of our loved ones! please start writing in the paper about what you would like to see happen when it comes down to getting cynthiana ship shape again. let our community leaders know, hey were here too and we want our town back so clean this place up for goodness sake! please find ways to help our town become a good place again anything you can think off write letters and post them up around the town ask to put copies in stores for people to read make our town think again!

oh trust me i know the cops are a joke i watched them watch a drug deal go on tonight in kens parking lot and they did nothing about it. next time it will be the state cops to take care of the problem. i cant believe how crooked this town is. i honestly dont think there will be a "good" person run for mayor thats why im about to give up voting for one. how can we take pride in atown that is over ran with druggies and prostitutes? they shut down evry place theres been for the kids because the bad influences wanted to bring drugs in or start fights or both. jsut like they do nothing about all of the loud stereos and vehicles parading around all hours day and night its completely rediculous. obviuosly calling the law does no justice around here anymore. the state police need to be able to take over for a while two weeks and they could turn this place around atleast a little. these cops down here are just as guilty as majority of the dealers and prostitutes they take advantage of the situation.

Well we do have a good mayor now we just need a few more younger commissioners to go along with the mayor. The same goes for the fiscal court too we've got a good County Judge Exec and a few decent magistrates to but we just need a few more younger ones to help him out. The MAIN problem here is that Cynthiana and Harrison Co. are SO far behind the times they'll never catch up. Look at the wasted $$ that has been spent in the last 10 yrs 1, the Industrial Park, what's out there Blue Grass Energy and what else ??? 2, Flat Run Veterans Park what's out there? Farmers Market and a restroom facility that's more available to the soccer field. Instead of the PAST leaders of the city and county throwing that $$ away it should've been used to either keep companies here or to attract new ones to come here.

the spent money doesnt have anything to do with the druggies aroun here though money cant clean a crooked town up only actual law enforcement can do that and they dont want to i do agree though. like our roads theyre building to nowhere. and the farmers market area that is usef once a year that will be defaced if its not already. and i voted for mr. moses hes a sweet man.

i dont vote for nobody, they r all crooks an as for the drugs an cops, ive seen drug transactions at my neighbors house an the city cop lives 2 doors away. if u lived in georgetown u wouldnt get away with nothing, ill tell u why, because when i lived down there, there was some gothic boys that lived down the street an they came up to our apt an broke some bottles, so i called the police an when they got there, they ask me who they were an i told them, they knew who they were an they went an got them, making them walk in front of the police car around the block an back to our house an they had a choice:pick up the glass with your bare hands or go to jail,so they choose to pick up the glass an the cop didnt care if they got caught, because they shouldnt been littering an doing stupid stuff an yes they did pick up every peice of it.u dont get by with nothing hardly down there, the police do their job!!!!!!!!!!

Well they somewhat did their job by making them pick up the broken glass, but they should've also have been arrested for it too. But I'll agree that G-town's police dept does do alot better job. Now for what I'm fixing to say doesn't mean that I'm totally in support of the police dept here. G-towns police dept more than likely has a FULL force unlike Cynthiana's. The last I've heard Cyn. force was down about 4 officers. So the money that has been spent could've been saved and used else where such as replacing officers that have either retired or moved on to better paying jobs.

Your "mayor" isn't the force behind what few changes have been made. There are only two commissioners on that care about change and they are the youngest two of the lot. Most things that come up for vote that are for the better are voted "no" by the mayor. If it isn't HIS idea, he isn't for it. Watch the commission meetings. All plain as day right there on television.

I agree that we defintely need to do something to get our town back , but where do you start and how do you know who to trust? I have family that lives down around Cherokee and their small children are right next to drug deals going down and their is an officier that lives down there, nothing gets done. These dealers are not afraid in Cynthiana, they make the eals right out in broad daylight. I know there are some good officiers that try to make a change but they have to work as a team and I do nto see it happening. An outside drug enforcemnt needs to come here and plant roots for a few months and clean this place up. They wont know anybodya nd therefore will not be affected by who is who and the good old boys club. I pray constantly that this drug situation will come to an end, it has already destroyed too many people and families.

Well there are a few ways to try and get something done. We can start a petition about gettin the state police more involved, If you see drug deal going on call the state police instead of the city police and explain to them it does no justice to tell the city cops, write down the liscence plate and make of the vehicle and turn it over to the state police they will watch for the vehicle and pull them over. I believe the more we complain to the state police and cut the city cops out the more chance we have of getting something done. If you see mr.moses out ask for a moment to speak with him he is very understanding and he might listen. Start writing about it in the newspaper but make sure it's a well put together piece. im currently working on one because I want people to take the time to see how bad of our town is getting and how little time we've left to try and make a change. If we want something done we have to speak up all together. The main thing that bothers me is the fact majority of the users and dealers have children they neglect. I live around people that want their fix over feeding their babies and i am also in the process of getting enough neighbors who have seen whats going on to speak up with me because I tried alone and it did no justice so far theres one woman on our street who is speaking up other than me. and a few people who dont live on our street that go by everyday and see these kids out by them self all different hours. Once you become a parent I am a firm believer that you put your children before yourself and others. when you have children its time to grow up and make sure they have everything they need especially the main thing they need to live FOOD. im trying to rid cynthiana of druggies, prostitutes, and people that want their fix over feeding their children. I can not do it alone though and I know there are more people like me that are willing to speak up so if we can get enough people we can set up a time to meet some where and discuss the issues at hand and find a way to clean this place up.

Let me know the time and the place and I will do all I can do. I am sick of it all and I want my grandchildren to be safe and I can only think of one person on the sheriffs department that I would trust and I cannot name anyone for sure on the PD. You just never know and I have seen too many lives destroyed. Problem is our PD goes after the small dealers and let the big guys walk away. We do need state policeor outside drug enforcement in here to claim the town back.

i call the state police to take care of the problems i have with druggies and dealers or all around bad people. i tell them that the city cops wont do anything and i wouls appreciated it if they would send a trooper and they do. the state police get to the bottom of the problem with the snap of a finger. they do their job right and keep the information between you and them. their number is 1800_222_5555 its very easy to remember so thats a plus. I promise if you call them and tell them the problem they fix it.

That is good to know but they need to form a task force and set up in this town and get more dealers then the small fries. The big time dealers get a slap on the wrist and then get to walk free. They need to come in here and clean house.

the police dont make enough money to do a dam thing and don't trust the staties to much either. they let people walk who give them information. snitches who are the dealers get away with all kinds of things. the big drug dealers are the ones spending money here so why would they try to stop them. public housing needs to get rid of the ones that run it because they just dont give a crap. been in those jobs to long to care. i live across from publlic housing and it is worse than anyone could know. how can you live in those places and drive a new vehicle. check it out how many new vehicles there are. established in public housing? sure they are and why not, they pay nothing. my taxes pay for them to live there while others have trouble paying for places they try to own. check out the court house. who do you see in there? any drug dealers? no. only the poor working people, the same ones the cops stop every time they move but if you party on the west end, no problem cause the cops wont do a thing. we see it all the time. old money runs this town. no hope. harrison countians against drugs? really? what else is there to offer these people who have no money, no jobs and no hope. take the drugs away and offer them what? good jobs here? not a chance. there is nothing here, nothing to offer people who would spend money here if there was anything but wal mart or pike streets garbage and bed bugs from their garbage. hell, even randy northcutt rips the poor people off who go around scrapping. how sad is this man? pretty dam sad. don't do anything and by the time that bypass takes on traffic, nobody will ever have to come here to buy our outrageously priced gas or look at our empty buildings. it's just sad and old money will die and take this town with it.

once again might I point out this forum has nothing to do with money issues! It has to do with DRUGGIES running around like an infestation of bugs it has to do with people letting their children do without to support their habbits. I do not want profanity used on this forum because when people see stuff like that posted chances are they wont get back on it. and as far as housing I live on section 8 and I pay so much a month to keep it and we dont have a nice vehicle. Now they should drug test people before they get housing of any kind because if you cant pass a drug test then theres no reason for why you should need help paying for a place. People spend over 200 dollars a day between 2-3 in a group just to get pills or crack or who knows what else ive seen that with my own eyes because of our neighbors. I dont understand why everyone assumes that if you get any kind of goverment assistance youre automatically labled as a druggie and I am not. I turned my life around over two years ago so yes I had a problem but I didnt live on section8 then. after seeing how bad off I got I decided its time to find a way to rid this town of the dealers and users who do not want to start over and live a healthy productive life. Once you get rid of the biggest issue in a small town then you can progress foward to take care of the smaller problems. I find getting rid of people who are druggies, prostitutes, or all around bad people is a bigger issue then where the money is being spent around here. If you would like to start your own forum about money issues then do so. and as far as the state police go they have always put 110 percent into situations ive called them over theyre alot more about their job over favortism when you compare them to the city cops. thank you
