Does anyone have any insight into this? I remember one of our servers telling us that they threw out HUGE quantities of food each day, and he told us that families would come in and spend a 4-hour marathon eating $40 worth of food at lunch and only paying the $11.
Just another sign of the times, I guess...

Well I found out more about why they closed. One of the former managers said that a large church crowd would come in every Sunday for lunch and stay through dinner, literally gorging themselves. Leave it to the churchies to get greedy, take what they're not entitled to, and ruin it for the rest of us.

LMT, I think that's an unfair generalization. I don't think it's any one people group's fault that a buffet closes down. I'm sure "churchies" were not the only ones taking advantage of the system.

Maybe that's true, but one would expect the churchies to have better ethics than the general population. In my experience, it's quite the opposite. God's chosen feel that they can do whatever they want and steal whatever they want, because "they're forgiven."

Are you always so full of contradictions? On one hand, you say your experience has taught you that God's chosen don't have very good ethics, but on the other hand, you slander them then in entirety for not displaying the ethics you expect based on a piece of hearsay related on the internet. Your initial statement was insulting and intolerant, and when someone pointed that to you, rather than admitting it you doubled down on boorish behavior. Well, at least you're consistent.

Okay folks, I worked there when the restaurant closed and I can assure you, it wasn't due to our most loyal customers (the church crowd). I can guaranty that right off the bat. It was the inconsistency of the food coupled with the need for regular maintenance and renovations. An update on the company, which was based out of Cincinnati, is that they sold the northeast Ohio area Golden Corral's back to corporate. They were franchised and could not maintain all those restaurants in a failing economy.
