This all well and good, but the Seasons Road interchange needs to be stopped. There is no need for it and it is "suburban sprawl at it's worst".

Umm. Isn't Cuyahoga Falls General, which is also a Summa Hospital, just about 10 minutes away from this proposed site. And just today I heard that Akron General Health and Wellness center was proposing an add on to the facility in Stow and would include some In patient care. Wouldn't this be a little overkill and saturate everything.

Summa is attempting to buy CF General and move it to Hudson - so that one is a goner..

Just to clarify - it does not matter what Akron General does - depending on your insurance you have to go to a Summa Hospital or the Akron General Hospitals. Just because Akron General is already in Stow does not mean everyone can utilize it. Also, Cuyahgoa Falls General is a small hospital unlike Akron City in Akron - this new hospital will be as big as the Akron Hospital's. It will be a blessing for those further from Akron that currently have no close hospital - Solon and Hudson. They did extensive studies before picking this site. This is a good thing - as is the new off ramp on seasons road.

PS: Summa already owns Cuyahoga Falls General.

A hospital is being built in Stow on Stow land and Cuyahoga Falls gets a split of the income tax revenue? What a joke! Just like with the Courthouse, Robart continues to make a mockery of Stow. Why is Hudson getting a portion of the tax revenues? I don't see that they are contributing anything to the project.

Look for Falls General to become Falls Geriatric/Retirement Village.

Falls General still is a stronghold for D.O.'s, so unless they agree, it's not going anyplace.

If these mayors are for regionalization, why are they giving Drunkken Mayor Donny Boy the bird by telling him where his Akron hopitals can go? I don't see them sharing the tax with him.

maybe its because that "big City Mayor" you refer to has a bad habit of speaking of regionalism from one corner of his pursed lips, while espousing old style colonialism from the other.

BTW grumpy, are you and suz waldman (not our beloved "pain ray" suz, but possibly related)finished crying over the Yankees' loss last year?

I'm glad there is another who thinks like me. This is the real problem, and part of the regionalism accord that they were working on. To prevent un-needed development like this.

RWA, How is Robart making a mockery of Stow ? The courthouse is going to Stow. As for hudson getting tax revenue...Hudson is on the north side of seasons road...right across the street.

If they were smart, they won't built it....they're only shifting jobs from one are to the other...

Another reason why healthcare is so broken and expensive in the US is the desire to build "Monuments" out in the wilderness for the doctors to come in...

Any of you been to the Crystal Lake medical group facility? Is there REALLY a need for chandeliers and a running fountain and pond to practice medicine? I know there is a need for newer facilities for newer technologies, but tell me where the chandeliers come in?

Why can't they simply go to a newer strip mall?

It is getting to the point of expensive mass stupidity. And we wonder why we get billed $20 for a dose of aspirin....just my views.....

So, you really want to be admitted to a new strip mall??? I sure don't. Summa is a non profit organization. They are reinvesting their moneys.

They have many projects that will aid in quality patient care.

I may be confused here, but isn't that current building only, like, 2-3 years old? Don't they have better things to do with the money?

What a waste of money. This is not needed due to the several new facilities constructed over the last two years. Is everyone aware that the Cleveland Clinic is building a full service hospital on SR91 at I-480? That would cover the need explained here for those in northern Summit County. Also, what was Hudson's contribution to this deal? I must have missed it.

What building? CFGH? That building is very old.

This is a group of doctors that want to own their own hospital. It will be a for Profit hospital. Summa will not own the hospital. They will be affiliates like Robinson. But not owner like in the case of St. Thomas, Barberton. I believe it's an investment. Not a purchase.

That would be why Summa has chosen to invest in this.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aquarius

Someone is being bombastic and overbearing, and you don't like it. You aren't prepared to take their behavior lying down, but standing up to them is likely to result in a rip-roaring row. Well, it seems that the row is almost inevitable, and perhaps that's just as well because it won't do you any good to swallow your anger or tolerate this person's boorishness for much longer.
