Maybe Coughlin should let Wayne Jones select the person. They now seem to be in the party. I have lost a lot respect for Coughlin since this started. HE will never receive another vote from me.

Maybe Arshinkoff should make the pick so he can choose himself and keep wasting party money on his lavish lifestyle and losing elections.

It doesn't matter who Kevin picks, because they are not going to win against Alex. Alex has his faults, for sure, but Kevin has cozied up to the Dems in his attempt to overthrow Alex. You can blame Wayne Jones all you want, but his co-conspirator in this whole thing is Pete Kostoff, who is pulling all the strings behind the scenes.

So, I am going to call this one as I see it. I think Alex will keep control of the party. The Ohio Supreme Court will side with the Summit County GOP and Varian will be removed. Kevin will run away wounded to lick his wounds, but will live to fight another day.

Maybe it is Brian Daley. Senator Grendell describes him as extremely stupendously supercatafabulously competent for any position.

I'm still watching.

Whoever Kevin picks, the person should not be old guard. Nobody will trust an old school survivor to act in the best interests of the party. Too many party regulars think serving the party means serving them. That's not going to fix things.

I agree that it is going to be difficult this time to put together enough votes but lets not throw the cozying up dems crap. In 2004 Arshinkoff cut deals with Wayne Jones and Russ Pry so we had no one to run against McCarthy, Walsh, or Donofrio so he could save the 3 jobs he had for his "boys" at the Engineer's Office. Or when he cut a deal with Jones to not support Robart when Jones ran against Robart in 1997 (soooooo many people forget that one).

It doesn't get much cozier than that.

Who gives a crap?

What a Pariah...like you need to call a press conference for this garbage.

Give me a break...somebody is needy for more attention. Send out a freaking memo if you think it's that important.

Here is some interesting information for you about the Arshinkoff / New Summit Republican battle and the role former Fairlawn Mayor Pete Kostoff is playing for the New Summit Republicans. Kostoff is but only one of plentiful Summit County Republicans who would like to see Arshinkoff go. The following is information from two sources and a little "inside baseball," but it provides an insight to the situation at hand.

It was just confirmed the Judge Kim Hoover will resign his bench, enter private practice with his daughter and be the New Summit Republicans candidate for Chairman of the Summit County Republican Party.

Not a chance. Kostoff and Jones know that they cannot control him. They need a patsy...like Kevin.

The status quo is good for Fat Al. Spending money, losing elections, and blaming my political enemies. It is good to be the king.

If that is true, the entire Summit County Republican Party will quit.

Watch the watch.... Ohio is swirling in the bowl. Casear Coughin is fiddling at the Knight rotunda while Rome burns. Nevermind that he has served the Columbus Rotunda for years stoking the flames. Toxic Jones gains the Secretary of State's ear and tests her integrity - question of who is fit and competent and loss of party powers of choice and oversight. Coughlin doing deals with Dems? Sounds downright Alexian. Clean slate anyone?

and I have gained some. Anybody who has the guts to try to oust Arshinkoff has my respect.

alex quit posting as debi...though perhaps we know why you would want to (wink wink). a great american doesn't stab family and friends in the back.

why would anyone want the senator to leave? he is the only local republican winning anything, and not with alex's help.
