Amen Brother. I have been going to Sturgis since 1984.Johnny Paycheck headlined the Buffalo Chip and it cost 10 buck's.It was way more fun in those day's.It's all about how much of our money can they get from us now. I quit.

I really think the shootings that took place would have taken place even if the "parties" involved weren't at the Sturgis Rally, if not here, then, somewhere else.
As for the comment about "wore out the welcome"... I've been to a few rallys in a few differant states but never felt the "un-welcomeness" that was ever so present at Sturgis this year. 4 bucks for a glass of lemmonade, 7 bucks for a burger and up to 30 bucks for a tee-shirt???? thats not a welcome, thats a poor excuse for a "stupid tax"! Not to mention the "welcoming" committee that was so present on the 7 mile ride out toward the Full Throttle Salon on Saturday night.
As Bondo pointed out, the crime count was not out of proportion to the head count that was present, but the locals would have wanted to cry if there would have been only ONE incident anyway.
Thanks Sturgis, for the rallys gone by of yesteryear, they've been "legends" no doubt, but as all "Legends" do, this one too should just Die. The pi**ing and moaning of the locals, the hostilities of the rivals, and the "stupid tax" that abounds such an affair should be signs enough that the time has come to start over somewhere else. WE (wife and I) won't be back as rally enthusiast, you know... theres a lot of places just as pretty to go ride and not feel the disdain thats expressed by the attitude and actions of the "citizens" here... "30 year RIDING VET."

Last year I trailered to Sturgis, but this year my wife and I rode. All total for us was 930 miles. It gave me a lot of respect for the people driving their bikes to the rally. Met one couple that drove from D.C. and on their way to Medora, Yellowstone and still have to drive back.
Had a great time at the rally, enjoyed the scenery and all of the people I met. I don't the bad things a representative of most people that attend

All bikers are not bad, just that 10% to 15% are dirt bags that give the rest a bad name. some bikers are officers of the law who like to ride.
