When the citizens of Cusseta Chattahoochee County agreed to consolidate, we were told that we did not need two separate law inforcement agencies. Now the same people say we do need two. I see this as ironic. At this point I believe it would only be advantageous for us to postpone the decision until after the next election. I also believe that the suggested cuts to the Sheriff's Department is unimaginable if they are to protect our citizens at all.

My original posting listed Atlanta, GA as my home, however, I returned to Cusseta in August of 1996 and am and have always been a voter since coming of age to do so.

Just goes to show that you probably voted in cusseta while you were a resident in Atlanta, a no no according to state law.

I was just joking Tracy.
It is like votes do not account for anything any way in Cusseta-chattahoochee county anyway.
It is not what the people want, but what the few jokers we have in office wants instead.

Tom, we can vote the "few jokers" out of office next month in the general election on November 7th, or, for anyone who cannot get to the polling place (the recreation center), absentee ballots are available at the Tax Comisioner's office now. We have thre on the county commission that want the PD, two who do not. of the three in favor, two are up for re-election, one is not running again. If we all vote real hard we can return the power to the citizens and by doing that, we can make the police department go away, turn the equipment, cars and man-power over to the Sheriff (if he wants the man-power the Chief has chosen) and go back to what we know works for us. One of the deputies told me that they presented 12 cases to the Grand Jury and got 11 true bills. That's a 92% success rate, not bad for a law enforcement agency that "Won't enforce the law"...
Pure and simple, We, the people can fix this mess ourselves, next month.

WEll in the next elections, Vote out all the jokers, to include Probate Judge who is in cohoots with the Three Jokers on the commission, and the county manager. We are the one's paying taxes and they are the ones spending them on stupid self centered ideas..... I was once told that the Probate official was getting politically motivated from his high chair Judicial seat. Citizens should look at his background, NO LAW Degree, he clerked for his wife's uncle. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM
