Hmmmm, it is nice to know that the people in this town that oppose the new bond have people like ROBOTS on their side.....seems like a classy guy. The new bond is 100 percent educational upgrades. Not updating a near 65 year old structure with a new one because the "Dickey Dome" was built with HISD funds would be like never driving your car again because you saw an accident on the highway 6 years ago! Grow up and realize that some of us that want to do the right things in this district don't necessarily agree with some things that have been done in the past either. We choose to voice our opinions by telling people that work in the district to their faces that it was a stupid decision and vote to replace the board members that did it. Now that almost all of them are gone and a new superintendent is in place it is time to do the things we NEED to do. When does the punishment of the innocent kids in this town end? The kids are not responsible for 5 or 6 board members decision forever. Lets spend some money on something we can all be proud of .......... a new middle school to replace the one that we got 65 years of use out of.

P.S.

I do not work for the district or have any family that does and I do not have any kids that will personally benefit from this new school. I just think right is right and stupid is stupid. Have a wonderful day!

Well, your opinion is what it is. I will continue to drive my car after the wrecks because it is my responsibility to be aware of other driver's mistakes on the road. Just as it is my responsibility to be aware of phony proposals the lead to tax moneys being pocketed and irresponsibly spent. I once knew a man who was very intelligent, goal driven, and wise when it came to spending. He was a multimillionaire who drove an 81 Ford truck beat to hell, and I had the pleasure for working with this man for years. I asked him how he became so successful, and he responded with, "I stood up for myself, I voted against insane decisions, and was always aware of the wolves in sheep's clothing who promised a better tomorrow." He once told me that, "Students these days are blind. Rather than reading books that inspired thought, they would rather gather opinions from TV, the internet, and others paid to tell them what to think. No one questions the things around them anymore. They are blindly led to slaughter." If you would like to vote yes, go right ahead, that's your decision. I too have the right to voice my opinion, and make my own decision. Others may feel the same way, and should do their own research to come to a conclusion. The fact you assume and decide my character proves your lack of research. I chose the name robots because that's what national education is building; robots who are trained on how to think. These students will be deprived the privilege of doing so on their own. Thus, continuing our country's debt with, "shiny new buildings" instead of brilliant minds.

Will a new building raise test scores, keep kids from dropping out, or help give a pay raise to teachers? I don't know. Will it provide a safer environment? I don't know.

So I am supposed to drive someone else's beat up car around even though I did not participate in the damage? Not to mention, the engine is going out. It's over 50!

Maybe if they had built what they said they were going to build with the last bond some people would believe them. Also use a contractor who had previously built a school. Then maybe the cabinets wouldn't have been falling off the walls and water leaking in a BRAND NEW building. I am all for improving educational facilities but you have to be truthful about all of it. Also use someone who knows what they are doing.

If our school was an 81 model I would not be calling for a new one. It is a 49......... Jackass! It is falling apart.......Jackass! Your analogy would be more accurate if you said you knew a guy who drove a 49 Buick with 4,000,000 miles on it with 2 doors missing and a hole in the floor to run like Fred Flinstone! Everyone in town including you would call this successful multimillionaire an idiot cheapskate. If you choose to look like that don't do it with kids in the car..... drive your wreck on a private road alone. People with your scrooge attitude usually are alone most of the time anyway. Have a nice day!

Yes drive the old car. If you want a new car....YOU buy it. Did your mommy and daddy buy yours? I have an idea....those who have kids, kids that in the future will be in the building, and yes voters pay the tax for it. Obama is already taxing the hell out of me, and why trust another school board....

Who is on the school board that needs to be replaced? Do you even know who is on the board? Why don't you step up to the plate and put your name on the next ballot and "serve your community"? Armchair quarterbacks make me want to puke!

1.) Building will not raise test scores but it might improve morale among teachers and students, thus improving performance.
2.) Teachers pay is a totally separate issue and will go up when we save in other departments like maintenance ( hmmmmm getting rid of a 65 year old campus might cut down on that ).
3.) Safer environment is a no brainer .... at least a hundred times more safe than the middle school we have.

Any further questions can be posted on here .... or you could attend a school board meeting or read the paper and quit listening to people at the coffee shop.

So you make enough ( over 250,000 ) to have gotten a tax increase and you are complaining about the kids in Henderson getting a new safer school that will replace a 65 year old rotten campus? Probably will cost you a whopping 300 - 400 bucks a year for 20 years or 25 to 30 bucks a month in other words. What a sad little miser you must be. Do you buy your wife her Birthday presents at a garage sale too? Do you save your chewed gum for later? How about check all the coke machines you pass for a stray nickel? You must be a joy to be around at Christmas. Have a nice day!

Dear proud parent,

I just finished reading your last 5 responses to this topic. Your children must be very proud of you, as well as respectful and well mannered, courteous and compassionate.......assuming they don't live with you or use you as a role model. Coming on here and slinging snot and calling names ain't looking too good for your side. Aside from ROBOTS vocabulary, I think he presents his opinion much more like an adult than you.

I'm a middle school student myself. It actually IS kind of distracting when you're taking a test and you look over to see medium sized holes in the wall. Sorry to burst your bubble, but my whole family is voting YES!

I do serve the community. You must be or related to someone on the board or work for HISD. I am only for the bond IF it is only the school. The "BOARD" railroaded us once. People like you make me want to vote NO, so I can say I am on the fence now.
