I must say as someone that was there with actual cancer survivors i personally watched them get disrespected and insulted. All they wanted to do is the same as the rich teams and try to rase money for there team.

i agree with what a joke,i as a survivor feel as though the survivors were not treated as survivors, they were treated as just another face in the crowd,if the ones that didnt fight the fight against cancer knew what we as survivors went through with first beinging diagnosed and then all the days and hours of going through the chemo therapy and having all that poison ran through our vains to get rid of the cancer in our bodys, the losing of a breast or kidney or a lung or even worse OUR LIFE,was it easy to go to chemo and somehow have the hope of the chemo working, not for alot of us,so the So Called Relay For Life should have had more respect for the survivors,by putting on a better dinner for them, they had a turkey dinner,no other choice, the survivors walk was just people walking around the grove,no banners to say the walking was the survivors walk,Come on People running the Relay For Life, give us more Respect,WE ARE SURVIVORS BECAUSE WE FOUGHT FOR OUR LIVES TOO,maybe not on a battlefield,BUT WE FOUGHT OUR OWN WAR AGAINST CANCER!!!!

You got a free meal.....do you think you're entitled to a steak f'n dinner or what? You're not the only person dealing with illness. Get over yourself.

Im so disappointed that i even opened this thread. The surviors im sure had and have a great deal of hurt going through the times they do/did. Relay for life was put on in order to raise money and show respect for those who suffer and cancer research etc. Nobody will know what its like to go thru it unless its you. I dont have cancer but feel like i put alot into the day....not for myself.... but for others and feel bad that those some werent pleased...esp the individuals who have/had cancer.....im sorry......

Some ppl can't be pleased. I don't understand how any survivor could have possibly been "disrespected" at this event. Sounds to me like a case of "give them an inch and they want a mile". It's disrespectful to the ppl who give their time to put on such an event only to have ppl complain b/c they don't like the food.

its not just the food ! 1 why was it not on the track like every other one in america ? 2 why was there not an option of food for the survivors? what if I was elegiac to turkey or was on a gluten free diet due to my disease? 3 when getting my place for my team I was instructed that and I quote ! " you realise all money raised stays here rite ?" for the record I was aware of that from the start and would expect nothing less ! That alone was quite disrespectful ! 4 that was great how the lomanary bags were so nicely placed in the cattle barns ! Glo ! I would concider that disrespectfule to my passed loved ones! I realize they cant help the weather but isnt there a place under the grand stands ? I guess the cow shi+ is better for the bags !

again i agree with What A Joke, being allergic to turkey could have been a reason that maybe alot of survivors did not come to the survivors dinner, and of course everybody knew the money stayed there, what was the person trying to say that there were alot of people taking money from the Relay to stick in their own pockets?,as for the luminarias, they could have been placed in the building that was used to have the survivors dinner in,it wasnt being used for anything, but instead they chose to put them in the cattle barns!!! DISRESPECTFUL!!! I AM Never Supporting Relay For Life in Clearfield Again,I Will Donate my money to The cancer Center at least they will make sure it gets used for the purpose of fighting Cancer!!!!

People will complain about anything. If you have a problem with them not personally calling you to see what you.....out of hundreds of survivors.....wanted for dinner, then take it up with the committee privately. DO NOT come on a public forum and disrespect those who put in countless hours before, during, and after the Relay to raise money and show support.
Don't come back. We will still be there regardless of where they put the luminaries or whether they serve turkey or steak.

I do not and will not donate any amount of money to any organization. Look how much money the President of "Second Mile" was making for this "non-profit" organization. Over $100,000.00.

I realize money is needed operate but not from me, sorry.

My eyes were opened since the Sandusky ordeal!

You know, alot of my family has had cancer and died. Never once did the SHIT from the cow barns come to mind after going through and reading their luminaries. I was thinking of them and how much I missed them.

Im offended by these so called survivors that do not see a good thing. My team raised over $6000 for relay this year for a cure. We respect what all survivors have been through or are going through, so please do not come on here and act like the relay is corrupt! Over $100,000 raised the last two years each and you are complaining? See the committee memebers if you have issues, i know two of them well, if you have issues i know they will listen and take all your concerns to the board.

Were the luminaries put in the barn due to rain? If they were outside getting wet people would be complaining. I highly doubt there are a bunch of people allergic to turkey. As for the track, I do agree the event should be on the track, not in the grove.
