Cumming is a good area, its located in Forsyth County which is also a good area over all. The schools are pretty good and best of all the property taxes are MUCH lower than Fulton County. I personally recommend the southern end of Forsyth County. Stay away from Gwinnett County, Dekalb, and Fulton...high crime, high taxes, crappy schools, horrible traffic.

Cumming is a great area to live good schools. There are credit union, Wachovia, Sun Trust, Chase, and others.
Cities listed are not in Forsyth, there are good pediatritions in Cumming when you get to a community you will be able to find one.

You might want to check the commute time before buying a house. Forsyth has a lot of good deals on homes due to foreclosures. South forsyth has a lot of nre subdivisions. There are also many new schools coming up. There are plenty of shopping areas and restaurant in the SF area. Cumming does not have a lot of companies/corporations. You might have a lot of employment opportunities in Alpharetta (adjoining city) depending what kind of field he works in. The ones mentioned above are counties. Fulton has better schools (apparently) but the taxes are sky high though Forsyth is fast moving to the same rates. South Forsyth is more diverse. If you want vast land area/privacy you might want to go more north. The population will be homogenous the further north you go.

But always remember everything is considered "Atlanta" area. So commute time very important. There are a lot of pediatricians. It will depend on where you want to settle down. If you want a unique one of a kind home there is a nice home on trammel road thats been on the block for more than a year. Its calleD Le Reve and costs only $300000 a year in county taxes check it out

Cumming is prejudice and racist, but you'll find many confederate flags if your looking for one. Good 'ol boy ways still exists.
I should have gone a different way.
The Carolina's are nice.

How thoughtless of you and your husband. When people ask your kids "Where ya'll from?" your kids reply "I'm from Cumming." will get them laughed out of the bar. Irecommend a town with a more regular name like Climax,GA or Butts County,GA. Welcome South Brother!

I found Cumming to be great.
Coming from Calif I always say that if I had known how much I would enjoy it her I would have been here years before now.
Great People and lot of fun folks especially if you are used to the Stuck ups of a Big city like L.A.
