Marc Montminy will be a great chief for Manchester. He is well deserving for this position. A plus for Manchester Police Dept.

Great choice!

Marc has risen through the ranks, and treats everyone with respect. It is evident that he looks for the good in everyone, and sometimes must need a microscope. He demonstrates that he cares, but he is not a doormat, and doesn't tolerate people being treated unfairly -- colleague or "client".

How wonderful it is, after all these years, to finally go from having a "Chief of Police" of having the "Manchester" Chief of Police.

Congratulations Marc!

Wow! Charter Oak State College ( ) has had 2 alumni become CT Chiefs of Police in the last week! Margaret Ackley in New London was the other. Congrats to a Charter Oak alum, and all the best to Manchester, CT in it's new top cop.

Good work MPD! Way to stay local! I can't complain about the current level of MPD service one bit, but having two Chiefs leave after hitting a certain amount of time is awful frusterating. I always got the feeling that they were using Manchester as a "stepping-stone" or possibly for the additional source of full bennefits. I understand that it is a free job market, and that the last two chiefs did fair jobs, but I guess it is old town values that a dedicated member of the town's PD would remain commited from the beat until retirement. The dedication leaves a lasting value and the chief in return deserves goood renumeration and a respectful and experienced police force.

Best of luck Chief!
