The Martin Street Bridge has been waiting close to 3 years to get done--hmmmm, sounds like a familiar story; when will the excuses end? The Berkeley village-for so long in need of proper streets and sidewalks- was just very recently paved and re-sidewalked. It took too many years!
The awful period of dinamite blasting beyond the ridge of the same Berkeley village brings to mind only more of the same patterns of a town's neglect and incompetence. I walked one day down victory street right as a blasting occured and will never forget what I witnessed. Rocks and debris the size of my fist rained down onto the street; I was probably 15 yards from one which fell onto the asphalt. I can remember pictures falling off walls and furniture rattling on so many other occasions. Local neighbors in grim, de-sensitized fashion explained to me that the "town couldn't care less" and that it "was what it was."
I'll give the town 5 more years before that bridge is done.

I moved to Berkeley village 2 months before the bridge was destoyed. It was a great shortcut to avoid the traffic on Mendon rd, now, 3 years later, I am still fighting the traffic on Mendon rd. Absolutely rediculous, finish the bridge, I don't understand what the mystery is.
