People should know that when they don't get a reading in the office they estimate it and charge what they feel is appropriate whether it is 200.00 or 600.00 and expect people to pay it , then sometimes they send out some one in the field at random times to read the meter and if this reading is higher than the office reading that is the one they bill for. People should really pay attention to how they are billed this is not right to do people this way.And as far as the workers in the office they really need to change their attitude with customers they are about they rudest people I have ever seen .People can hardly make it these days and even the working class has a hard time anymore they way prices are going up. DON'T SCREW PEOPLE OVER!!!!!!!!!!

I have had REA for over 40 years with no problem. That doesn't mean I couldn't have a problem soon but to this date never had. I think they are wonderful.

I think, they don't have to have the men come out anymore because the reading is electronic, straight into the office. Probably nothing you can do anyway. You are not the first this has happened to, they do it to a lot of people. Wished KU would supply everybody. Liked it a whole lot better when Kermit ran it.

I dont know what it is but I know we have the highest electric bills of anyone I know. I have family in every state and my bill is so high I question theirs and mine is triple.$300.00 a month to keep your lights on is rediculous and that is what mine is every month. I have questioned it and they have an answer for everything so I just pay it. I mean I have to have my electricity. About the girls in the office. Jennifer is okay but Hannah Jr.> (Candance) has multiple orgasms on cut off day!

Have you all ever had them send the guy out to do an inspection of your house to see where you can save on electricity? I have said it before and will again, I heat and cool, and when I say cool I mean 68 degrees, an my electric bill has never been over 150.00 but most of the time it is around 120.00. I also heat and cool Kitchen/Dinning Room, Living Room, 3 Bedrooms, 2 baths and hallway, plus my entire basement, I run 2 dehumidifiers, 2 freezers, and 2 refrigerators, Oh and Oxygen.

Who ever clicked on the disagree button here, doesn't bother me, because I told my experience with REA and it is true.

I have no problems with the folks at Cumberland Valley electric. My bill runs about $200 per month but I use electricity in my workshop and run a couple freezers. My outside light is about $16 which is included in my bill mentioned above. I do believe that they now read the meters electronically.

Honestly, you can tell that Poorhouse is probably somebody who doesn't pay their electric bill to have problems at cutoff. I think this kind of is the purpose of cutoff. If you did your job by paying the bill then you wouldn't run into this problem now would you?

Lord help the people in benham if they get cvrecc they will regret the day, they let the mayor do things his way or highway!! I saw a bill today and it had a envormental or some kind of fee that was twenty dollars, people can not pay all these extra fee's and what are they for anyway ? who does the money go to? and why should every house pay this , they are making a killing just off the exras they charge.

We have had CVRECC for several years and have never been treated rudely. And yes, there has been times our power was cut off because we were behind on our bill, but they have never been rude. Maybe you were being rude to them and she just gave it back to you?

Guess what? As for times being hard, yes they are but I would disconnect my Internet service if I couldn't afford to pay my electric bill dumbass. As for Candance and the other ladies who work there, how about they come down to your job and whine and bitch about the cost of fries. Of your job more than likely consists of churning out as many kids as you can to live off the state.

What gets me upset is when they charge me extra on my dang phone bill so that the people who supposedly cannot afford a phone can have a phone at my expense. I went for years without a phone and did just fine. I do not feel that I should have to provide a phone for someone else. As far as the environmental charges , I have no problem with that.

My mom and my step dad live alone in a small, two bedroom trailer and always pay their bill. Every February, their bill doubles, and has done so for years. It seems like once Harlan County Community Action Agency announces that they are taking applications for heating assistance, REA hikes the bills up. My parents are disabled and live on limited income. Their medicines alone take every extra dime they get so when they get hit with a $600-$800 electric bill, it is impossible to pay it without some kind of help. I think the rate hike in the coldest months of the year is a load of crap aimed at getting their grubby paws on the "extra money" thats only available this time of year...Shame on you REA!!
