It can be said that massena is slowly dying, with plants closing down and others cutting the workforce and small business closing up...is this the beginning of the end? The school system is a joke...both management and the teachers union. Over paid with great benefits along with village of massena employees. And you the tax payer pays the bill. So please tell me how to save massena?

Get younger people in office, the old are stuck in the old ways, trying to protect small family business like the failing downtown. If they were smart they would realize the Canadian shopper is their biggest consumer, since Joe pissed off the Mohawks they don't want to come here any more...oh way to go Joe & mayor hidy. That mall should be a boom town instead of a ghost town. If anyone has ever seen williston vt. They're shopping complex grew up in about 5 years. And it is booming, even with csnadiens. For this town to survive they need to her their heads out of their Burt's and do something, start with the mall revitalization project .

You aren't going to save it. There will not be any great paying jobs with benefits around anymore. You will see part time positions in retail mostly. Notice all the for sale signs? Taxes keep going up and without good jobs, you can hang it up.

Don't shop at Walmart or any other big box store that doesn't pay its people a middle class wage. Massena's situation is not unique: its happening in thousands of other American towns.

Make the mall into a outlet store. But the people that run this town are just stupid. Oh ya. They are probably massenA high graduates.

I'm probably wasting my time, but I'll ask anyways..

So what should a teacher be paid?
What would be your salary requirements if you were a teacher?
Me: not a teacher
