I did my homework and checked out a number of different manufacturers of windows and, at least according to the info I saw regarding Polybau, their product was very acceptable with a high efficiency rating. I contracted my purchase through a local window company in Palm Desert, CA and initiated a retrofit. During the installation of the retrofit sliders and windows, a representative from Polybau visited the site and watched the install. Later I discovered some problems with 2 big custom-made sliders and another inspector came out and we went through every window with the inspector tightening screws, etc. When we went to put in the screen doors, it became obvious there were problems with the windows; sliders not level or square. A third inspector from Polybau came out and said 4 of the sliders were incorrectly installed, one even put in upside down. Then the fun really began. We went back to the local distributor, who, of course, denied any responsibility for the installers she recommended for the retrofit and Polybau was uncooperative regarding replacement parts. My husband talked to the President of Polybau and finally got a concession for replacement parts and screen doors. It has now been 3 months and surprise! nothing has transpired. As of March 31, 2009 we are still pursuing correction of the problem and are considering suing Polybau for poor business practices and fraudulent warranty. I am extremely upset because I think the product is acceptable but, for whatever reason, Polybau's business practices border on the criminal. I am continuing to harass them until I receive satisfaction, one way or another.

We had a nice man do the initial consultation then the trouble began, of course after they received some of the money. We are now 90 days past the completion date of the windows/french doors, and they still have not give me a date of the french doors and their availability. We also have a second job for front/back door replacememt that was to be completed 3/2/09 but has still yet to be scheduled. Greg/Allbrand has provided multiple excuses such as: I have bigger jobs to complete, I only have two install crews and they are out on current jobs. Or calling and giving less than 24hr notice. Would you please post the name of the President of Ploybau so I can contact him? I would never use or refer this company to anyone!

Yes, they are disorganized. We did finally get the front and back doors installed. They do look nice. The product is better than the support. We are still waiting on the french doors.

Polybau didn't go away, just playing another switch-a-roo, Allbrands Windows will go away, as Polybau owns Allbrands, their new name is World of Windows or something like that. Now Polybau will own the new Window company and start switching contractor's license numbers around again. It's a shame because Polybau is a very good product, just has a STUPID owner who has no business skills. Polybau also owned The Window Broker, that's where I purchased my windows a few years back, both Allbrand Windows and The Window Broker were under great management at the time, as I recommended them to friends and neighbors, unfortunately about 10 months ago they embarrassed me with their total lack of professionalism, I will never recommend any of those companies again, they just don't deliver. Research them, I should have before I gave my seal of approval.

A couple years ago we put in an order for our customer in San Luis Obispo, CA. We went to court as the glass was contaminated when it was put together at the Prima Products, Inc. factory in Tracy, CA...(lack of quality control at this point) After much denial and a no show in court on the second round after mediation when Cheryl was suppose to show up again we were awarded a monetary judgment for our customer. This was after a second shipment of glass came in contaminated also-probably from the same batch of badly put together glass from the first order. Why they tried to pull this stunt is amazing. We sold their products as an independent dealer for about three years and would have continued if they would have honored their warranties. They buy their glass from Cardinal who sided with us originally, but then changed their tune, probably because of all the business they do with Prima Product, Inc./Polybau. Polybau is big in Europe. I understand Jacek Pasternak is the owner. According to records he also owns Window Broker and is president of Gps Windows.Polybau is also advertised through Allbrand. Polybau I hear got a grant to come to America. I've tried to collect on the judgment, but have been unsuccessful as of 6/12/09.Prima/Polybau is ignoring us. Any free legal help would be much appreciated. We sued on behalf of our customer's rights.

Looks like All Brand Windows is out of business. Polybau Windows is not answering their phones so they might be out of business too.

In 2002 I had about 19 Polybau windows and a door installed by ATNC of San Carlos...of the 19 windows the hardware failed on two windows and of those two, the window is clouding now...evidently I am S.O.L. as everybody seems to be out of business...I think the windows are fine, in my case the installation was pretty good...so I guess I will just bite the bullet and find another outfit to fix my problems.

Maybe we should all join together so we can confront these foreigners so they take care of their warranty issues and obligations. It isn't right that they can keep creating new businesses and continue avoiding the old problems. Maybe we should contact their vendors like Cardinal Glass and let them know about our issues. I can be reached at c/o PO Box 257 S.M., CA 93453 if you would like to talk.

I miss spelled Jacek's last name, it's Pasternak. Susan, the vendors don't want to have anything to do with these people except to collect what's owed them. Enjoy your Polybau products while they last. I, so far, have had no problems

When buying windows this should be a good example of why homeowners need to check out the window company before buying. I searched AllBrand Windows, The Window Broker and Polybau Windows and found complaints about these companies going back 6+ years. This isn't rocket science. Homeowners looking for a deal fell for this low price sales pitch and bought windows that now have no replacement parts or service.

I would never use this company, ever! The bad news is I am still waiting on my French Doors. I did finally receive a call with a install date but when I called to confirm, the voicemail greeting stated the employee would be out of the office on personal reasons and not checking messages for the remainder of the month (June) The only positive for me is that I paid 50% for the job up front which was for all windows and the french doors so I guess if they never install the french doors, then I only had to pay half price for m windows...as I wrote at the beginning, I would never use or refer this company to anyone. I guess it is time to call channel 7 and speak to Michael Finney who handles these types of situations.(7 on your side) Good luck to the rest of you!

I think you need to do your homework a little bit better. His contractor license was taken out in 2004 and shows active & current. Although I agree with some of Polybau/Prima Products comments here, I have to tell you that this is wrong information. I don't find him anywhere involved in a "new" company but I would like to find where, what & how to contact him.
