The ACt was not the only one to jump on the GOP, a person in Swain County lambasted the GOP leadership in Swain for this horrible act .

The ACT is the most disgusting, pathetic excuse for a "newspaper" I have ever seen. I read many newspapers from many parts of the country, and this one is so blatantly biased & unreliable, that it is the ONLY ONE I have ever canceled a subscription to (four years ago). For example, I will cite the weather page. I noticed, about five years ago, that the temperatures posted on the map of the local area have a distinct pattern. Believe it or not, the posted Asheville high and low temps are always ONE degree higher than the Mars Hill high & low temps. I can tell you for certain that the temps for Mars Hill are NOT accurately posted, and that it is impossible for the highs & lows to be one degree apart from Asheville every day for the past five years. It appears as though the weather folks at the ACT are not looking for the actual Mars Hill temps, and have instead decided that it must be one degree cooler in Mars Hill on a daily basis. Has anyone else noticed this??

I refuse to pay for garbage like this, but fortunately the Internet allows me to see what kind of trash it is printing, at no charge. Stories like "the dead bear", not to mention all the political stories where the bias really shines, are much more common than most think in this paper. The editors are so busy pushing their ultra-leftist, socialist agenda that they can't seem to publish any real news stories without throwing in a dose or two of bias. The "apology" concerning the bear story was from from an apology, and it was used as a springboard to push more of their leftist agenda. That was the most insincere "apology" I have ever read in a paper, and it was truly disgusting how then ACT turned it into yet another political statement.

I believe this ultra-leftist socialist paper endorsed Pat McCrory for Governor. Man, I wish they would just lay off, endorsing these leftist candidates.

"If the bear had Bush, Palin, or McCain signs on it,
liberals would be praising the WCU students,
and demanding the rest of us respect their free-speech rights.

Yeah, we could call for it, but it would never make the papers or the "news", so nobody would know about it. lol

Probably a lame attempt to cover up their blatant, nonstop bias.

McCrory is a RINO. Pushing through Bobcats arena after the voters had voted down the non-binding referendum is something only a Democrat or a RINO would do. Oh well, we've got to put a stop to Gov. slEasley's continuous lineage of corruption. Maybe if Obama wins, Gov. Palin could move to NC...
