When you here "drop out" you think of the child , from my experience of late the administration of local schools are a LOT to blame. They do not consider the student as much as the they want the public aand parents to think. Much investigating needs to be done to see what is really going on in public schools.

Society, and by society I mean the liberal socialist agenda puts too much emphasis on high school and college education. It is more about completing a level of indoctrination. Employeers have been trained to look for high school diplomas or bachelor degrees as a litmus test for employment.

Some children were just not meant for single focus education. We need to offer apprenticships and trade schools. They need to get the same respect as someone that buys into the need for a college education gets.

For the record I went all the way through school, and graduated from Uconn in '92.

I remember the class of 2008 at Smoky Mountain High School had a crazy almost 50% Dropout rate. Its going down, though.
