Yona, I do not blame you for trying to explain your hertiage to Cherokee G533. I personally, feel she is not inteliigent enough to comprehend. I do not feel she is of Cherokee decent. The people I know are very proud individuals. I do realize as any other part of society they have those individuals who take advantage of the system.<quoted text>
You are obviously one of those ignorant public housing per cap to per cap Indians.
My wife's family has been here as long as FOR ABSOLUTELY SURE as yours and maybe longer. As for my family, well I can trace my roots on my mothers side back to the mid 1700s in this area. That is before Buncombe county or Asheville. The fact that my father was attending FSU when I was born, and I just happened to be down there makes no difference. I included it because I believe in being honest and honestly I am not a born WN Carolinian. Funny story we had a house up here and I was up here days after my birth. So shove that BS move back to florida stuff.
Wal-Mart on the boundary, well I supported it as long as it he Native preference hiring, and it does. Beer and wine sales my wife and I are mixed on. We know from history that alchohol has a negative effect on many Cherokee we know and care for. I have a nephew in the hospial right now whos not expected to live because his liver is giving up. Don't you make a snide remark, or we will all know you are no Cherokee.
We feel that with passable ever widening roads and better cars that beer and wine is prett much easy to come by now. That sort of ruins the keep it away to protect the Cherokee argument.
That leaves the up side. Beer and wine sales will be a boom to the economy and not just because the Cherokee will be buying, but all the tourist, which by the way leads to increased city revenue by DWI ticketing of tourist.
Finally the casino would see a significant rise in revenue based on studies done in casinos that served alchohol compaired to those that don't. Yes assuming Michelle or the next Chief can't figure yet another way to divert tribal money, the per cap should be much bigger. I, of course, am just excited for the trust fund growing for my daughter. She will have something significant to start her life out on, unless she does what so many Cherokee are doing right now. Getting the money and buying cars, booze, drugs, and having a good time for about a year, and then right back to being broke with nothing to show for it. Some parents are working hard to prepare their children, and others are going to let them crash and burn.
I also have mixed feeling on the sale of beer and wine. I have also been told that alchol is fire water to the Indian. I do not know this for certain.
CherokeeG533 we are not interested in your little game. I'm certain Trooper Cogdill's wife is not aware of the type of comments you are making on this forum. She is a very caring and intelligent person. I'm sure her heart and prays go out to Michaela.
