You have major issues dude. I know ryan and I know you. I have met you a many time while Ryan was working on my vehicle. I did my own research and looked into the bill he handed me. At $7000.00 for a junk Suzuki you did very very well. Grow up and get a set of nuts and realize you didn't get the shaft at all. You have a crap car that costs alot to fix!!!!!

But remember one thing. He got a used motor. After it was put in and ran he found out the head gasket was blown. Price a suzuki grand vitara motor and see if he really got ripped off. From the dealer at cost the motor is $9000. just the motor.

I run a small shop myself, and $7000 for what you are talking about is ridiculous, I found a 2000 mile, 2009/2010 Grand Vitara engine for $1499. I found them from $800, to $1995, in a lot of places, including some in western N.C.

I still say it was an over priced repair, if I would have tried to pass that off, I would be in court faster than I could shake a stick at.

So, if it needed a head gasket, it still would not have been anyways near $7k to fix that Suzuki. Has to be a ... LOT ... more to this story.

Ryan made good on the check charge and refunded my money. but I had went to the bank and raised hell as I had just deposited 600 worth of checks an hour before I broke down. the bank reversed these charges so I took ryan his 30 check back that he had sent me, as I believe in Karma and admit I was angry and broke when i wrote that post.
I also stated that I had never had a problem with any of the work ryan had done for me in the past and will continue to take my vehicle to him but damn folks. I make min wage.I need no return work and I do get this here at his shop.but when you put over 600 in the bank and end up with over drafts and dont have enough money for gas to get back and forth to work or groceries it can make ya mad.
So Im so sorrrrrryyyyy Ryan. your a good mechanic but I knew if you didnt wait one day to deposit that check this would happen. But thanks for the nice letter you sent and trying to corrent my overdraft situation. I will continue to pass out your cards at work and bring my broke down piece of crap vehicle to you in the future.

I found myself in Waynesville recently with a alternator out on my car on a Saturday afternoon. Ryan took the time to fix my vehicle so I could get back on the road. He did it quickly and at a good price. I found him to be courteous and professional in every sence of the word. I found this cite looking for him online to thank him again. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing automotive help.

I was returning from Bryson City the week of Thanksgiving and had some car trouble. The wrecker driver recommended Appalachain Automotive so I had him tow the vehicle there while I took a rental car from the Asheville airport to return home.

I work in the automotive industry and let me just say that Ryan and his staff completely exceeded my expectations. He keep me informed of the repairs needed and the time frame they would be completed. The pricing for the work done was beyond fair.

If you live in the Waynesville area I would urge you to take your car to these guys. If you are traveling and have some issues in this area I would highly recommend you get your car towed to them.

Ryan, thanks again for the fantastic service and making a difficult situation as painless as possible.

was in Appalachian automotive but the truth is the worst, the person who assisted me was very kind to my truck to take her at least this person could handle and give me the worst and was told that the motor was bad and had to put a new engine and I did not have any solution other than spend and took almost three weeks to hurt me even more than my truck, are idiots who do not know what I did I went to the ford company and take my ahi ahi truck and told me an engine has no problems and that the parties to charge me in the Appalachian automotive were not changed are freeloaders, not demanded that I do not like walking into trouble but I think this is not done, only rob the poor people lying to a lot of things, take a second opinion from another mechanic before relying on people who just take advantage of people, never come back to appalachian automotive.

Ryan and Appalachain Automotive is great. Won't take my vehicles anywhere else. On MANY occasions Ryan has saved me big $$! Even take my BMW there since he is much cheaper and just as knowledgable. Highly recommended!

It is easy to leave postings that are erroneous in an attempt to harm the reputation of another.

I am a pretty demanding guy who has eyes wide open when dealing with any business. My experience with Ryan has been perfect in every way.

These guys saved my butt on Friday evening 6 June 2014. I was in Cherokee NC for work all day and on the drive home my alternator failed.
I got help from strangers all along the way and was finally towed into Appalachian Automotive (in the rain). Ryan and his team were still there but it was just past closing time. He told me they could fix it first thing in the morning. I started looking for a ride back to Asheville.
and was feeling pretty defeated since I was worn out after a long day and had business first thing in the morning in Asheville.

Ryan came back out to me and told me: "If you're willing to wait we'll get it fixed this evening and get you back on the road tonight." WILLING TO WAIT??? YOU BET I AM! The guys kept the shop open, got an emerg. parts delivery and got me back on the road to home w/i an hour or so. The price was what I expected for the job and they treated me and my vehicle with respect.

I'm originally from Atlanta and would never expect this type of -above and beyond- service & courtesy in the city. Thanks Ryan + Team - you made my day.

I moved into town about a year ago and have used Appalachian Automotive several times. The first time they did some diagnostics on a truck I was looking to buy - no charge. The second time they did diagnostics on another vehicle - no charge even though I know it took a long time. My experience has been very positive on work they have done on my vehicles. Most estimates were very close to actual charges but any that were a little higher were for legitimate reasons. Ryan and his guys have always been very accommodating and very friendly. If something changes I will re-post but so far no concerns at all.
