The staff (mainly undergraduate students with no experience) at Catamount Peak Apartments is extremely underqualified and cocky. Complaints are ignored. Internet either does not work or is extremely slow. Apartments are cheaply built. Hardly any visitor parking. Booting company employees drive around like vultures looking for cars to boot. Hefty fine to pay to have boots removed and must be paid in cash or by money order. Maintenance takes weeks to respond to requests and still does not repair properly. Cable goes out occasionally. These are just a few reasons why you should not live here. AVOID or you will regret it later.

The staff is useless at Catamount Peak Apartments and extremely under qualified and cocky. Complaints are ignored. My truck was vandalized and broken into twice in 3 weeks and their is constantly trash in the back of it. the management did nothing about it (basically the same as the police). Internet either does not work or is extremely slow. I had to outsource my internet because of this. Apartments are cheaply built. My stairwell is constantly filled with broken beer bottles, cigarette butts, and food. Cable goes out all the time. The water is highly chlorinated and undrinkable and unusable. I constantly have to buy water for cooking and drinking because if you even cook with the water your food will taste just like it. This is one of the noisiest places I have ever staid at and the management will do nothing about it. I repeat DO NOT EVER SIGN A LEASE HERE YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!

I love renting at Catamount Peak. I have rented at other apartment complexes around WCU and all have really disappointed me. The staff is so friendly and I love the apartments. My mom really was sold on the fact that there was a 24 hour security. I really enjoy knowing that if i have a problem, there will be someone that can help me right then. I enjoy being able to munch on some lovely snacks before riding the transit. It's a great deal of help, especially in this economic slump. It's great knowing that the people here really care about their residents and will try to help them as much as possible, even if it is something as small as a bag of chips. To me, any help is greatly appreciated. I absolutely loved the valentine's dinner!!! FREE chicken and cheese cake!!! It was the best meal I have had since being a student at WCU. It really made me feel like this was my second home. I will live here until i graduate. I really want to thank everyone at Catamount Peak for being so wonderful!

This place gives out free food!!!!! No other place would feed all of us college students. I love to eat and it helps when the Peaks have Taco night or pizza lunch. It's amazing dude! I would rent here just for the food

The apartments are decent, but way overpriced. The staff is nice, but not too bright or helpful. I don't know about all of the buildings, but at least one has bed bug problems. To my knowledge, nothing has been done to combat this problem. Yes, they give out free food, but the rent is highway robbery! The place is constantly littered with cigarette butts and beer bottles. The walls are relatively sound proof compared to some of the other complexes in the area. The office has a tendency to change policies after you've signed a lease, such as their so called "animal friendly" policy. They also kill countless trees by leaving a new flyer on your door each week, sometimes multiples ones. The cable and internet are spotty. Despite having laid new cables, there are random outages. Don't bother putting in a maintenance request, because nothing will happen. If you're looking for a tiny, overpriced place to live, where you'll be eaten alive by insects and be given no help from the staff, then this is the place for you!

Catamount Peak was the best place to live in cullowhee!!!! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always helpful. They have free resident activities all the time. The rent is all included in the price, so I didn't have to worry about paying any extra bills. The buildings are only 2-4 years old and include everything you would need. The apartment was spacious and taken care of. I am glad that I lived at Catamount Peak and couldn't have pictured myself living any where else while attending WCU!

I've lived at Catamount Peak for 3 years and love this place. The staff has changed over the years but they have all super friendly and very helpful. The community events are fun and the events also help you to meet new people. And the residents are right about the free food! What college student wouldn't want free food! And not to mention all the things they give away! The amenities are super nice, and over all just a great place to live!

Catamount Peak is a great place to live. Everything is included which is really nice in the winter time. For the person that had their car broken into I am betting that they didn't lock their car door. The office is open a lot more than any other apartment complex in Cullowhee and is really helpful. Yes the price is higher than any other apt but you get a lot of amenities for your buck. Try the gym, pool, and tanning bed for starters!

Catamount Peak apartments is the nastiest place I have ever lived. When I first signed my lease, they offered a "pet friendly" clean , and security patrolled living enviornment. Six months after i moved in that changed. They no longer allow pets, so those of us who had them had to find them a new home. The hallways, stairwells and grounds are constantly littered by beer cans, broken bottles and I dont know about you, but I do not enjoy walking through a sea of cigarette butts to get to my unit. Not to mention walking down the stairwell and slipping in vomit. I also dont like seeing bags of trash in the hallways for days and sometimes weeks at a time. Maintenance seems to do nothing about this. Catamount Peaks is extremely understaffed when it comes to maintenance personel. Also, if you like to get your sleep at night or peacefully study, forget about it. I am constantly kept awake by partying neighbors and non residence screaming in the hallways and my walls vibrate due to them blasting their music. Also the internet and cable go out constantly. I have never payed this much in rent to live in such a dirty unsanitary and pretty much just nasty place. please think twice about signing a lease here

only a stupid fat B1T$h who probably sleeps around with the boss because they cant get anyone else would write such a made up good review about a place that if you talked to anyone rather then the employees who wrote this they would tell you the truth about how crappy this place really is. Only a moron with zero technical knowledge would think that wasting resident money on fiber lines localized to the apartment complex would have any affect on the crappy internet service they chose to provide to the people who pay good money to be at the apartment complex. Good luck with that though im sure whoever told you fiber lines was a smart idea made a ton of money off your lack of knowledge. It looks like in the end the catamount peak's own stupidity will be their demise in the end.

Do Not Fall For The Tricks Of The Catamount Peaks Apartments. All of these reviews were written by employees. Read around ask everyone in the local area even residents of the peaks theyll tell you the truth. This place is terrible in every way. Policies change monthly, what you signed up for does not matter and will not last. If you love a dirty overpriced place with terrible staff and and understaffed maintenance crew then this is definitely the place for you. Check around though there are many places that are cheaper and offer more in the cullowhee and dillsboro area which can save you tons of money. The policies changed many times while i was at the peaks: starting with the beginning rent was suppose to decrease the longer you lived there, the pet policy came and went, flat screen t.v.s were promised that have gone undelivered, it is your right as a tenant under NC law for the stairwells and community areas to remain safe which they are not doing. Express your rights!!!

The complaints about CP is so true. The place is a dirty trashy mess. I have a friend who goes up there on Sundays and he fills up the back of his truck with beer cans and bottles to turn in for recycling and makes enough cash to fill up in gas every week he goes up there (that should tell you how many cans and bottles he can collect in one weekend of the partying going on there!)

The place is loud, trashed, and is party central for WCU. Serioulsy if you are looking for someplace quiet, clean, and decent, you better look elsewhere. If you are looking for a drunken orgy 24/7 party haven CP is your best bet. Also yes the maintance staff is short handed because the guys they hire for maintance get sick of dealing with the constant trash all over the grounds, residents throwing crazy parties resulting in repairing the walls that some drunk idiot put his hand through, busted windows, pulling girls underwear out of clogged toilets, and replacing puke stained carpets.

This person couldn't be more right. The staff is under-qualified (thats putting it nicely), the cable goes out often, and the internet will give you tons of headaches. The management doesn't care about tenants at all. Complaints are ignored as well.

Apartments are cheaply built
Well, my son has not complained, but I drove up in a blizzard to pick him up. The entire "new" (cheap vinyl with wooden steps) section of cliff top apts were in the dark. He was totally in the dark with no information from any of the staff about when the lights would come back or if they could move him down to a lighted unit. He was just on his own with no heat, lights, or anything. This is really not comforting for a mother paying tons of rent for her son to be comfortable. I noted that the "bus" won't come up the hill to get the students. They must slip and slide down that cliff to catch the bus. The rent is too, too, too much for the apt. amenities. I think the dorm would be better at this point.
