Mazda taking MX-5 wrong direction

this car sucks it has no car safety what so ever,on 2-04-07 my 10 year old daughter and her daddy deid in a car crash ,and there is no kind of protection coming from this car .people who make this cars are just being careless.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, and understand the pain.

The older Miatas are holding up great, and many are comparing a eighteen year old 1990 to some other 2008 car. No comparison.

Likewise, the larger, heavier cars are safer to drive because of the weight.

All cars sold in this country are tested and required to have the same safety equipment. Air bags, tire pressure monitors, crash tests, etc. Miatas are rated quite high for such a small topless car in the governments stats, but I believe that is slanted by the fact that the majority of Miatas are driven by older experienced adults, after the children are raised.

The insurance companies bare out the same thing, Miatas are cheaper to insure than Mustangs, STIs, S2000s, Z4s, and other small convertibles.
