drove by the local fire department on the West side of town today and there was another truck, a white ford truck with a for sale sign in it's window parked on the Cities fire department's lot up front next to the main road, is that fire department lot zoned for used car sales if so can I park some cars and trucks there for them to sell?

Where is that Zoning Yard Sale Man who works for the city does he know how much they want for that truck?

Does the local Fire Departments Have and pay business license and personal property taxes as to be able to compete with other car lots in Lewisburg who do and don't sell Cars and trucks on the side or on City Taxpayers Time?

Is the Local fire Department running a park it and sell it, Car and truck lots?

Can any one park their personal Car or truck there to let the Fire men Sale while they sit around doing nothing?

Who do we see the City Manager, City Codes man, or the Fire Chief?

How many Cars and trucks can a person trade or sale a year with out it being considered a business or need a car lot business license and pay local county and city business taxes?

This is trivial, The personnel of the Lewisburg Fire Department could be doing a lot worse than parking a truck on the parking lot trying to sell it.

Oh I agree using the Fire Department's water to wash their own cars, and boats may cost more which I have seen them do.

It just the principle of the thing, what do you think that says to the local car lots who pay their taxes and some local yokel uses the location of the city fire department to run a side line business, why don't he use his own yard and on his own time to sell his own car?

What do you think would happen if all the Fire men decided to get in a side line business of selling cars on Taxpayer Time and at all City Fire Department lots?

Why not just let the public park any cars they have got for sale at the fire Department lots, now are you for that?

But wait.

The main thing is you let some one get hurt on City Property stopped to look at one of those private vehicles for sale and is the City not liable big time?

Does this mean, in your opinion of course, that a person doesn't have the right to put a "FOR SALE" sign on their vehicle, drive it to work and park it on the parking lot? When a person purchases a vehicle, do they not have to pay taxes on it same as if you buy from a car lot? Are individuals not allowed to sell their vehicles without going through a dealer? Come on now!

Dearest darling, bless your heart, the for sale vehicles are parked out front not where the employees usually park, a while back there was a boat for sale on the same lot, no car or truck attached, the point is that if some one drives by stops too look at the car, boat or truck for sale on the city fire department lot
Slips and falls then would the city not be liable? Also say some one stop and gets in the way of the fire truck on the way to a fire who is responsible?

Are goes to the fire department door to ask about the truck slips on the steps and gets hurt on city property?
Who is responsible?

I have seen more than one or two private vehicles for sale on those lots out front over different periods of time and could that not mean a side line business as to compete with local Car lots and run a business on the side using the city’s location as to a heavy traffic area?

But main point is the parked for sale vehicles are not where the employees normally park in the back but up front where Visitors Park and space is limited and the liability risk is not needed. We taxpayers are not in the business to furnish city employees a place to dispose of their surplus vehicles.

I think you all are just worried someone is going to make a sell and take some business away from you. Do they really park cars in the front where the visitors are supposed to park? I would think they would park them in the back where everyone can see them in case they are interested in buying them. If a person just visiting fell, who would be liable then?

How can local car lots compete and pay business license, county and city property taxes, personal property taxes too county and city, maintain dealer tags, pay lights and water and utilities bills, garbage pick up, collect and pay the sales tax, pay their part of the fire mans salivary and their city allow an employee to advertise or sell their own cars and trucks on city property and compete with local business is beyond me.
Now if that car or truck was in the employees yard it would be a little different but to use a public job location to conductive or advertise private business it is just not right or fair too local business. The Zoning Department is so worried about Yard Sales, well what about Car Sales?
