I live on McCreedy Ave and they are redoing the streets around our neighhood. We had a meeting in May with our alderperson and alot of residents came to the meeting. The Mayor was there but when he saw the number of people he left. We have been forgone the truth on what was being done. We voted against the sidewalks but we are being forced into them. There was no stimulus money to defray the costs, yet they applied and will receive some for repairs. They applied in April for it before we were told of the street repairs.
This is the first time this road is being torn up since the 1950's some of the longer residents have told me. What about the soil contamination from early industries in this area?. We are being forced to pay for something we don't want, nor need. Most of the residents are elderly and retired. We as Cudahy residents do not have a say so in our own community according to this Common Council.
